Default New "Rest of the Season" Trailer on youtube

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, but I've only just (accidentally) found this on youtube:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KPqlscQ-LI&feature=user

It's fairly spoiler heavy (if you don't know anything about the rest of the season, obviously), but it looks pretty exciting stuff.

So did I. It looks great!
I’m being extremely clever up here and there’s no one to stand around looking impressed! What’s the point in having you all?

Looks like we're in for a roller-coaster of a final few weeks.

Some folk have already been faffing about with/enhancing shots from the new trailer:

    Looks faked to me.

Edit: in fact, I've just messed around with a screencap in Photoshop and the area where the face should be is completely black, so it's definitely faked.

Here's some random screencaps I've collected together:

No you're not. I hope to enjoy the rest of the season but the trailer gave me that 'more of the same' feeling.

For me, it needed a glimpse of a new monster or something similarly enigmatic. Unfortunately if we're going back to the Daleks again (and pay attention Steven Moffatt, because this applies to you!) then I have to wonder whether the production team in place for the last four years have failed to create a really iconic monster that today's children will reminisce about in twenty years' time. Except, strangely enough, the ones that do stand out have been things like the Empty Child, the Clockwork Men and the Weeping Angels...

Well as far as the Daleks there might be a reason for them being in the first 4 series.
Originally they were in the 2nd story of season 1.
Then they were in the 2nd story & 2nd from last of season 2.
Then they were in the 2nd & 4th story of season 3.
Then they were in the 3rd & last story of season 4.
And then they didn't appear for 4 years but the series carried on for 26 years.

Here's hoping the new series producers follow that methodology & rest the Daleks.

And let's not forget that they also appeared in four consecutive seasons in the 70s - I'm sure that young Ralph and Wayne (in particular) didn't object back then!

I rather liked the trailer, but then I rarely fail to get excited about new Who! Loved the Bernard Cribbins bit - shades of Logopolis with the stars maybe?

Intrigued about the Darkness - wasn't that mentioned in Torchwood S1 a couple of times?

I have to say that's exceptionally unfair! Weeping Angels? Slitheen? Judoon? Absorbaloff? Lady Cassandra? I do know what you mean, but iconic monsters in the past tend to have been created by time, nostalgia and 20 year old memories of episodes (mostly missing or unwatchable). And the old series only really started creating the monsters we know of as "iconic" about... ooh, five years into its run?

But I do know that the new series has created far, far more memorable monsters in its first few years than the old series. Apart from the Daleks, how many iconic monsters came out the Hartnell years then?

The Cybemen are the only other ones. But to be honest those (& the Daleks) are the two big ones aren't they.

    You've let me down Jon.

I had a tenner on you mentioning that it's impossible for Wilf to see the stars go out like that because the spectacle would take so many light years to reach Earth.

Listen to the commentary on 'Vengeance on Varos' and you'll hear Nabil Shaban reminiscing about the Zarbi. Then again, the Hartnell era production team were only doing monster stories half the time anyway...

Naturally, it's not the Daleks that i object to. It's just consecutively worse season 'finales' that are the cause of my low expectations. Still, i seriously doubt that anything could be worse that last years. But since they totally ****ed up the character of the Master, i'm wary that they might do the same to Davros.

Strange! You haven't said a single word about this season on the weekly threads. I thought you'd become indifferent.

Now, I was going to save that until after the relevant episode. But now you mention it...
