    Default Forum Avatars

For the six years that Planet Skaro has been around, we've had avatars. That little 100x100 pixel space says a lot about your likes and dislikes. It serves the purpose of personalizing your contributions to the forum, representing different parts of your persona, beliefs, interests or even social status. Some of us regularly change it, others stick with the same one for months and months (even years).

Do you have a favourite avatar of your own from the past? Do you really like an avatar somebody has currently adopted? How do you choose yours?

Well no one can fail to notice my posts. I'm the familiarity that keeps PS feeling comfortable.

Si Hunt's recent Freddie Mercury one suited him, I thought.

I like your Kate Isitt one, Iain. Lissa's Raymond Terrific one is great too

Shada Pavlova, if you read this, what's going on in your avatar? Is it some sort of game?

Mine is the latest in the long line of Season specific avatars we've had. This year I wanted to reflect the quality guest stars in this year's Doctor Who.

My favourites from the past include my bubbling Morius in the tank, a happy old Cyril Shaps from The Importance of Being Earnest and of course my title sequence Tom...

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

I like to change my avatar & sig fairly regularly. It's boring when you see the same ones all the time.

    Knowing Wayne, Hawkwind.

Tim may be a bit boring on the on the same old avatar front, but he's not daft. I do tend to go for a theme with the avatar & sig pic. My current avatar is from the gatefold lp sleeve of Hawkwind's 'Space Ritual'.
It's time for a change soon though. It's been a few weeks now. @Tim

It's from one of the Pokémon games - either Fire Red or Leaf Green, I believe.

And I've been quite happy with mine since whenever I started using it - I think it's the one I use on most forum I post on!

I like to make my own for that personal touch, but apart from that there aren't really any criteria. And I don't change them too often.

The one thing I miss about the old PS is that the avatars used to stay - whereas now, if you change your avatar today all your old posts get changed too. So it makes it a bit tricky to remember who's been who (as it were).

I always like Si & Rob's though, they're very classy. And Pip's pussycat one was very cute too.

My current one was commissioned to tie in with Paul Monk

I quite like my new one, although I had to compress it to get it to work on here.

I think here's another good reason why:
