It must be something CGI'd, as they are both looking in different directions!

    New Cast Members ahoy:

Four new cast members have been revealed for Torchwood: Children of Earth, the shortened third season of the cult show.

Producer Peter Bennett told Torchwood Magazine about the additions, a mixture of established and upcoming talent.

Former Cape Wrath star Lucy Cohu will play Alice, described by Bennett as "a woman keeping many secrets from the past".

Susan Brown, best known for her turn in The Riff Raff Element, plays Bridget Spears - "a character vitally connected to the government, which plays an important part in this story", according to Bennett.

The quartet is completed by newcomers Cush Jumbo and Rik Makarem, with the former playing Lois Habiba, "a secretary who hacks into some vital information", and Makarem portraying Doctor Rupesh Patanjali, a "junior doctor at St Helen's hospital who gets drawn into Torchwood's investigations".

They join a trio of previously announced guest stars - including Peter Capaldi - in the third season, which is currently filming for transmission on BBC One in early 2009.

    Belatedly nabbed from Digital Spy:

John Barrowman has revealed that Torchwood's Stateside popularity has led to the third season being toned down.

The Captain Jack Harkness actor told The People: "We're not swearing or doing anything close to the bone because it's been a huge success in the US and the networks won't accept it with all that stuff in it."

"We're doing everything so it doesn't have to be heavily edited for the US," Barrowman claimed, before adding: "I'll still be getting naked and it will still be saucy - but it's done with taste."

Torchwood has achieved record ratings on BBC America and moves to BBC One for a shortened run of five episodes, expected to be screened over consecutive nights in the Spring.
What the **** is going on with these ****ing ****s? The best ****ing thing about the first ****ing series of ****wood (sorry, Torchwood) was the ****ing swearing. There was quite a ****ing lot of '****'s in series two as well, not to mention the odd '****', the infrequent '*******' and even the occasional '****flaps'. I'm ****ing ****ed off with the ****s who made this **** up; surely the ****ing ****s love ****ing swearing in ****ing America as much as ****s like us do in ****ing Britain. For ****s sake, Russell * Davies, sort the ****er out or **** off to **** ***** and **** your *****ing **** **** ******** ***** trousers.

I suppose a time when Doctor Who isn't gonna be on is a good time to broadcast, I just hope I'm not on holiday LOL.

Not sure about gun-totin' Gwen, but apart from that it looks almost feature-filmy.

Bets seem to be on Children Of Earth being transmitted 15-19 June.

    Preview for episode one:

1965: Twelve children are gathered on a deserted moor, before being surrounded by a harsh, bright light .... and then they are gone!

Today: all over Earth, children stop moving. Stop playing, stop laughing. Then, as one, they begin to speak with the same voice, announcing the imminent arrival of a new alien threat. "We are coming...".

As the British government closes ranks, it issues a death warrant against Captain Jack and Torchwood...

Today I accidentally called this "Torchwood: Back to Earth".

    What a twit I am.

It's an easy mistake to make - One series features an inept crew of ageing wasters involved in bizarre and far-fetched adventures. And the other is set on board Red Dwarf.

Sorry, but I just don't get your reasoning there. IMHO, the first two serieses were brilliant. It was Doctor Who with violence. And swearing. And nudity. It's what I've been dreaming of for years. And it looks set to be an EPIC week for the third series.
