Crossroads Motel,Can I Help You?
My timing is impeccable! Looks like the 1983 episodes will hit Christmas the same time we will in 2015 🏼🏼
Really rather touching episode as Kath opens a letter from Arthur that had remained unopened from his years in the RAF. We had his ghostly voice speak to us too
I think I may have to have Nolly's song on my show on Sunday. Well we all need a little Christmas after all

That was a really lovely scene I thought. He might have been a miserable old bugger, but Kath loved him!
I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

Oh how disappointing!!! The 1983 motel Christmas party was held off camera

It's January 1984! Sharon is leaving her job at the garage and is moving out of Diane's flat. It's the end of an era I hope we still get to see Sharon though!
Carole Sands has returned! And Kevin Banks is already lightly flirting with her. You've just become a dad Kevin, for goodness sake!

Blimey - not only has Carole Sands returned, she's brought her Dad, brother and house with her - a ready made family. The Brownlows will be jealous!!
And in more exciting news - David Hunter is considering having cocktails on the drinks menu!!

I think, sadly, that's it for Sharon now. Shame, she was one of my favourites too.
I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

Look who's turned up - it's Maria from 'Allo 'Allo! I think she's lined up to be Paul Ross' latest heartbreak.

Jill Darling did a classic "filling in time" by ad-libbing a telephone conversation. It was worthy of Nolly!

There's a bit too much focus on the Sands family at the moment - they're definitely the new Brownlows (only with a more grubby house!) I'd rather have more scenes with David & Barbara or Benny & Miss Luke please

Two guests at the motel today - the wonderful Gerald Sim, and a young-ish lad who is Barbara Hunter's brother. How intriguing!

I liked the Gerald Sim storyline. It felt like ages since a random motel guest storyline.

Yes, I remember that one from the time - very good.

Barbara's brother bears a striking resemblance to Captain Scarlet ....

The motel is getting quite political! Douglas wants to whisk Lisa away to South Africa, but Mister Paul is aghast because Lisa has black heritage. Coooo!!

"Something terrible's happened"
Well of course it has - that's why the Wings theme is being played
Looks like Gerald Sim has driven his car into the reservoir......
We're in April 1984 by the way. I know this because Mr Paul very helpfully said so!

"Drugs are like illusions. If you can do without them, all the better."
So says Doctor Wilcox. He'd be struck off for saying that now. Poor Miss Diane - she's fallen for the suave GP hook, line and sinker

Hoorah - Mavis Hooper is back! And she's even more grumpy than usual. Sid has forgotten her birthday!!

A new resident has checked in - Captain Cecil Beecher-Blount. Now I wonder what this elderly gent's story is? He's not an extra so I'm sure we'll find out more soon. Adam & Jill Darling have taken up jogging and look marvellous in their matching red track suits

Eek - Mavis Hooper wants a divorce! Don't blame her though - I'd have shown Sid the door years ago!

Back at work, so back at the Motel! Things are hotting up as an old flame of David's returns to re-ignite the flames in Barbara's absence! Good to see Annette Andre in this role! And yep Mave is serious - not only does she want to divorce Sid but she wants him out of her guesthouse too!

Anette Andre is great and its a rather good storyline that lasts for quite a while!

Watching Sid Hooper jogging in his string vest isn't the best way to start your day!
