    Default The BBC website

The BBC website has a sweet little advent calendar with some cool and some rubbish stuff. Today's window has the full version of Song for Ten which is really rather good.

It's a lovely song isn't it? I'm looking forward to hearing the Neil hannon version on the soundtrack album next week.

    Si xx

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

Mine arrived this morning, and it's very good. Doomsday and Madame De Pompadour are gorgeous.

Where did you get it from, can you say?

From the cheapest place - Foxy - they must've run out now though, it says Stock Pending for 1-4 weeks. It says released today, 4th December, so I don't understand why you lot are still waiting?

It was put back until the 11th, which was why I was curious who had it. Got mine this morning, being such a big Murray Gold fan.....the "Exclusive Badge" is a bit rubbish, isn't it?

That's probably why it's so rubbish.

Weird that they gave it to you early. It's Rosegate all over again! Does it have the 70's version of the Who theme in place of the new one?
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Oh, it should have been in a "Collectors Limited Edition" slipcase? It's only a 5p "button" badge though....

Tate's looking good on the new homepage.

(Oh, come on, you knew it was either going to be me or The Milkster posting that. )

    Am I bovvered?

The jingling bells are the worst music I've ever heard - bring back Dominic Glynn. The gurning by Tennant is even worse than in the clip from that popular internet video site that everyone's seen by now. RTD has raped all my festive seasons and must die.

Was just a normal CD case, perhaps that's why it was cheaper?

You can buy the soundtrack through iTunes for 7.99 now, if you don't mind not having the sleeve and case.
Neil Hannon's version of Song for Ten is awful though! And I'm a fan of The Divine Comedy.

I have a feeling that Song for Ten was fabulous within the confines of The Christmas Invasion, but might not stand so well as a song in itself.

I'm sure Neil's take on it was very good. Perhaps it'll need a couple of listens to get used to!

I think it's not bad! 'Love Don't Roam' however.....

Actually you're right, its not bad. I just really love the original version so Hannon's was a bit of a disappointment.

The new Comic Maker thingy is well worth a look.

Well, it probably works better if you have a mental age of about ten.

    I enjoyed it...

It's worth checking out for RTD's video advise - he whizzes around different settings (well, they change the background) while sat in his chair. He's like the Keeper of Traken, without the beard.

But is he gayer and wider than The Keeper? The fans will be disgusted!

Nice work from Mr. Lidster on the BBC site's '42' Prologue thingy:
