Default Heart of the Haniad - Episode 2 Is Up!!

It's been a while since Planet Skaro's own Doctor Who battled Christmas Gnomes and the evil Kestero on Tinsel, but finally next week he is back! Things may have seemed quiet, but a special six week audio season of adventures has been readied and will shortly debut, taking the PS Doctor into previously unchartered waters!

For those of you new to the idea, the Planet Skaro audio's are special fan-made productions written, produced and acted in by members of our forum. Anyone is welcome to take part, and new productions are being plotted and made all the time. So do drop me or any of the other Admins an e-mail if you fancy writing us a story or performing a star turn as a companion or villain! For those of you just interested in listening, well, read on...

Our first adventure is called Heart of the Haniad and is written by Steven Alexander, aka poster Bob McCow. As usual, it stars Paul Monk as the Doctor and features the debut of a brand new companion, Edward Bradley, played by Martin Penny!

    HEART OF THE HANIAD

The Doctor is in trouble! No sooner has he dropped his friends Nick and Rob off for some solo adventuring, than the TARDIS lands him on the spaceship of ailing pilot Edward Bradley. The problem is, Ed can't even keep a date with his girlfriend Jenny, let alone avoid the hideous space faring organism that's suffocating his ship!

The Doctors problems mount when he discovers that the ruthless Space Merchant Uxan-rani-us Hol-toy-toy Mal-phas-ius Gak-ra-throne Gemini the four-hundred and sixteenth Beep (Uxan, to friends and aquaintences) is also nearby. And he's given Edward Bradley the time it takes to say his name again to clear the spaceways... or be blown out of the sky.

Can the Doctor help his new friend Ed avoid death? What lies at the root of the strange tree in space? And why is Uxan so interested in a mysterious creature the rest of the Universe has long since forgotten?

    --

"Heart of the Haniad" also stars P-Bal as Uxan, David Barnes as Grexos and Pip Madeley as the Chi-Haniad, with Simon Hart as the computer.

Episode 1 of this exciting new adventure will go on-line on Saturday, July 12th. So no-one on PS need be without new Doctor Who for too long! But in case you want a taster, there's a trailer you can download now from here.

This story will also be released on a smart CD (cover, above, by Pip), with extra features including a behind the scenes featurette, interviews and out-takes. Details on how to get a ready-made CD sent to you will appear on this thread in a few weeks time! We'll also be using our new season to drum up some donations to our chosen charity, so there'll be a chance to raise some cash for a good cause as well!

Don't forget - log onto PS and download Episode 1 free on July 12th 2008!

There's lots to come in the next few weeks and I'm looking forward to hearing Haniad and The Paradise Machine, neither of which i know much about.

And I'm looking forward to seeing what you all make of Heist! too, of course.

I just listened to the trailer and it is fantastic, I cannot wait.
Just one question is there anyway I can get hold of all the previous adventures on cd or are they just available to download?

    Hi Chris!

At the moment, just available to download, although we're thinking of re-issuing our first two adventures, "Echoes of the Protii" and "Soap of Fatal Death", later in the year. If that happens, you'll be able to get hold of the new editions on CD.

It's a technical term that means it's slightly higher in pitch than last time!

I think Si was quoting from Fawlty Towers rather than actually asking a question...

That sounds great, I especially loved the bit where the Doctor says "He's tearing himself open" along with accompanying sound effect.

That was too obscure for me.

If Steve actually liked Fawlty Towers I'd be in the know. As it is I haven't really got round to getting the DVds.

I'm looking forward to these - I've been thrilled to finally be able to take part in one of these, and hope to get involved again.

Once again I'm reminded that I STILL have to listen to the final part of The Christmas Gnomes!

Looking forward to the new episodes!

I eagerly await the new season! I can actually remember very little about 'Heart of the Haniad' so I look forward to listening to it!

I love the red cover too!

I forgot to mention that it's about time we had a proper appearance from P-Bal in the PS Audios!

Like Martin, I remember virtually nothing about Haniad so it should be fun listening to it again.
I don't remember P-Bal being there on the day either. Or his making of.

He wasn't! Despite Steve's fond remembrances on the interview footage!
