Default Online Videos (YouTube, Vimeo, iPlayer, etc.)

Eek! I've only just noticed that we've no longer got a Web Planet forum! So I thought it might be nice to have a thread for cool links / you tube vids here...

    To start off:
The trailer for David Lynch's new film Inland Empire.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4hFEDYmMcM

It's not out here till February the 7th, but it looks cool. Even if, according to Wikipedia, no one's quite sure what's going on in it...It's nice to see Laura Dern back on the big screen, anyhow, and it'll be interesting to see what Jeremy Irons is like in a Lynch film...

On this subject, can we post embedded videos from YouTube on the new forum?

    I'm afraid not, no.

We don't really want to enable HTML coding because it can put our forum at risk (yes, we did it once or the PS meet videos, but that was a one-off, as the videos were made 'private' on the YouTube site). Plus, it would take a while for the page to load, and a link is just as good...

I'm sure this has been seen before, but it's constantly entertaining

    The Chase...

New CGI Effects and Murray Gold Music

Gotta be seen to be believed! The last sequence with the Daleks kicks ass.

That was superb, I've seen quite a few videos using the new Murray Gold music with old series clips, but that was the best of them. Very nice Daleky bits at the end with the lift.

The TARDIS looked superb - did you know it's the same CGI TARDIS model that they use on the official new series DVD covers?

There's more at his website here for your enjoyment.

The CGI was really very good, especailly the chase through the vortex bit, but the music didn't sit well with the titles sequence or the story footage.

While we're on the subject of Scarlet, I like this:

    Captain Black Strikes Again

Whoever made it is very talented.

    Yes.

Thanks Kinggodzillak - I noticed a lot of the Scarlet vids on YouTube were your work, so cheers

Just been watching some clips of cult 80's comedian Ted Chippington. The Pebble Mill clip is brilliant and shows just what a prat Paul Coia is.

You can also see the influence Ted has subconciously had on many modern acts including Vic Reeves.

Some great acoustic covers from a guy called James Hayward on YouTube:

    Madonna - Get Together

    Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Catch You

    Beyonce - Crazy In Love

    Cool stuff.

    Ultimate Geek Fest!

    Star Wars VS Star Trek

Unfortunately it's those wussy second-raters doing the firing from the Star Trek side, but apart from that very amusing!
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!
