That's A Man For Emily.
Once seen, never, ever forgotten.
I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

The infamous "wig and nipples" scene is the one used on clips shows, but if you ask me far more disturbing was the bit where "Momma" spanks John...

I've clearly blocked a lot of story out to try and save my poor mind. A rewatch may be required at some stage, preferably when I've had almost as much wine as I did last Thursday!

The whole adventure is the nadir / height of The Tomorrow People, something that is so extreme and bizarre and cheap that you couldn't imagine any other show even trying it. It makes stories such as The Keys of Marinus look classy, yet 'A Man For Emily' is still thoroughly entertaining on the most visceral and knowing levels.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

I found that with the whole season boxset. The Tomorrow People was somthing I always wanted to re-visit so I bought the boxset that starts with Elizabeth joining the team in The Blue and the Green. I was really shocked by how cheap it looked and how poor some of the acting was, I never bought any more.
It's funny how your memory sometimes tricks you as I remembered it as a great sci-fi series from the 70's.I’m being extremely clever up here and there’s no one to stand around looking impressed! What’s the point in having you all?

Isn't that like buying a bag of sugar and not buying any more because it's too sweet?

I had a similar experience when I watched back the first episode of the 90s TP series. Suffice it to say I haven't watched the rest of it yet much as I liked Todd from Neighbours.

It's turgid, despite some really good casting and hot Schmid action.
They've taken out so many things from the original - TIM, the Federation, any stuff set on other planets, the concept of "breaking out"... and you slowly realise they've actually taken out everything that made the original TM interesting - and it's left as just a grainy quality kids show about some kids who solve crime and can teleport.
The highlight is probably the epic Jean Marsh vs Connie Booth face-off.

I really liked the Rameses one with Christopher Lee, but yeah it's not nearly as much fun as the original series.
I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

I'm just listening to the commentary on The Blue & The Green and realised that I'd accidentally missed Episode 4 when I first saw it. Didn't seem to make much difference to the story though!

What's this? Stephen whips his pants off from beneath his kilt ..... more topless boys in the dorm ... Ah yes it's The Doomsday Men.

I remember that one but I don't recall there being an actual direct suggestion that the boys are really naked under their kilts! Dear me!

I quite liked that one, aside from all the silly business with the van and the traffic warden, which seemed to last for hours and hours and wasn't particualrly funny or anything. The actual plot was pretty decent.
I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

I liked the cunning Maloney-esque mix of location footage and inside-the-fan studio inserts.

Just making a start on The Secret Weapon. The jury's out on Tyso at the moment. Tim sounds like he has a cold (although his balls are in perfect working order).
I'm having a Trevor Bannister day today! He popped up at Crossroads Motel this morning, and now he's playing the evil Col. Masters in TP!

We thought that The Secret Weapon was phenomenally good when we watched it.
Unfortunately, that may just be in comparison to the rest of the series.Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Well now I've seen it all I agree with you Steve - it was a cracker of a story. Definitely the best so far I was really impressed by Trevor Bannister - he played a really nasty piece of work. The story was well plotted and paced. Okay so it was a bit far-fetched in places (like jaunting the Prime Minister out of a moving car!!) but that didn't detract from the overall enjoyment. The only downside was the aforementioned PM. An extremely stilted performance. Had somebody drugged the actor?? The character of the PM got used to the idea of jaunting and TPs too quickly for my liking!!

The sound effect for the spaceship is exactly the same as the quiz wheel on Name That Tune. DOUBLE! I'll name that tune in three!

Peter Davison has just tickled Tim's balls. Surely nothing can surprise me after that??

I have been surprised!!!
John has put Emily over his knee and is giving her bottom a good spanking.
