Nicholas Young, John from the original 70's series has been cast in the remake according to Digital Spy.
I’m being extremely clever up here and there’s no one to stand around looking impressed! What’s the point in having you all?

Good, I am glad that someone sensible will be back in the show!
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Yay! This is great news!

I'm really pleased about this too :-)

Wow, that's quite a surprise - is it in the new year that E4 will be showing it, I think I read recently?
Also, did that new reference book come out a while back? If so, was it any good - did anyone get it?

Yes to both!
Jaunt is a good read. A nice overview of the series, with very well considered reviews of the stories as it goes a long- well worth getting if you like the series.

I've seen the first two episodes and am quite enjoying it. I've no memory of the original though so that might be why, but it's reasonably fast paced, fairly twisty, with a decent sense of humour about itself so far. I doubt it'll ever be considered a classic, but as far as fun genre tv goes, it's not so bad at all.
"RIP Henchman No.24."

Is this on TV in the UK or only if you borrow from certain sites?

I don't think it jaunts in until the new year, Tim - E4 I believe.

Cheers, Jonno. Have to wait then. Time to finish the last few episodes.

Afraid to say I'd heard E4 had cancelled their order. Hopefully it will get picked up at some point next year by another channel.

Just watched "The Dirtiest Business" - a definite change in tone and a little bit too adult in content with vague references to prostitution! The ending is a corker though! Is this really the same programme that gave us "A Man For Emily"??

And so I jaunt (get it?) from the old to the new. It was good. It wasn't wow, but it was good. It is in danger of taking itself too seriously (let's have a bit of quirky!) and ending up like Heroes. But I enjoyed the references to the old series, and I wouldn't kick any of the male leads out of bed ;-)

I enjoyed it. It's rather earnest and serious, but I like the fact they've taken the basis of the original show and made a good stab at updating it. Nice to see TIM is still there, and the breaking out was nicely done (though sexed up in a different way to Stephen's in the original show). It's not quite as mad as the original show, but it looks like it's heading in some interesting directions and I'm going to keep on watching.
I miss shows having nice themes and title sequences though. The little glimpse of one at the end of the episode looked like it could have been great if they'd expanded it.

It's very rare for pilot episodes to have a full title sequence. I'm hopeful we'll have something for episode 2.
Really enjoyed the episode though.

Great episode today - right balance of action and humanity ... sorry ... homosuperior-ty
Still wish they'd have decent titles though!

I'm really enjoying it too. I think My Dad did as well, once I'd explained the premise of the show to him. I didn't dare tell him it was based on the old ITV series he used to tell me to turn off when I was... ahem... in my 20s!

Just watched last week's ep - nice to see them "jaunting" even though it's in a slightly different context! It's still very good, but still very ... erm.... American!

I'm only watching another episode if Steven Jameson is killed off by the return of The Living Skins.

John's voice (the "new" John) gets on my nerves a bit. He's very whispery. The rest of him is mighty fine though :-)
