    Oh my.
That's really sad news, especially as he seemed quite well in the recent BBC documentary on the band.

    Si xx

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

What a great shame. 65 is not that old these days.

Here is the news link.. Says he died from cancer. I didn't even know that he had cancer. Maybe it wasn't a long term cancer but something he was diagnosed with recently?

Poor old Rick Wright! He was always the quiet member of Pink Floyd, I believe.

That about wraps it up for Pink Floyd as well, probably.

    RIP.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

How incredibly sad. This has come as a complete shock - I didn't know he was ill. It's such a tragic loss, especially after being treated so badly for so long (mostly by a certain Mr. Waters) and then appearing so much more content in recent years, rehabilitated and revitalised in Pink Floyd, from his songwriting return on 'The Division Bell', through the band's triumphant reunion at Live 8, right up to his successful stint touring with David Gilmour two years ago. He was indeed the quiet man of the Floyd, but his sound was crucial to the group's success - just listen to 'The Dark Side Of The Moon' or 'Wish You Were Here' and try to imagine how they would sound without the all-pervading atmosphere of Wright's beautiful, mournful keyboards. Impossible.

'The Great Gig in the Sky', his greatest composition is so heartbreakingly appropriate tonight. With his passing, the story of Pink Floyd is indeed essentially over.

Rest in peace, Rick - you will be missed.
