Roger Delgado in The Road To Hong Kong. He's full of menace even in this!

Billie Piper, looking somewhat scary on Graham Norton and scotching any rumours of Rose's return (or at least so she says). Poor old Frank Skinner, apparently a huge Who fan, admitted to begging his agent to ask for a part in Nu Who and being turned down (so far....)

I really wouldn't want to see them bringing back Rose and Jack for any anniversary shindig - surely, been there done that?

But Frank Skinner.... now that would be a bit of a laugh, wouldn't it? Looking at him, couldn't he in fact play an aged Matt Smith in a remake of The Leisure Hive? Quick, somebody photoshop a fez onto Frank Skinner's face, see what he looks like.

David Tennant was on Jonathan Ross last night and he too was scotching rumours of a 50th anniversary return, although not entirely convincingly...

Various Doctor Who themes got airplay on the Chris Evans Breakfast Show this morning - the original, the Troughton-y one, Gold's first go, and most excitingly the Howell version. Marvellous!

K9, voiced naturally by John Leeson, appeared on Stargazing Live the other night, bizarrely, backed by the music from 'Rugby Special' which then provoked debate, with David Baddiel wrongly stating that it was the theme from K9's spin-off show. How strange!

If David Baddiel can't tell the difference between K9 and JPR Williams...

Part one of Spies Of Warsaw on BBC4 last night, starring David Tennant. Or is it Billy Beaumont?

Watching 1948's 'Scott of the Antarctic', featuring Clive 'Gov. Trenchard' Morton, and a young, bespectacled Barry 'Producer' Letts.

That's exactly what it says on their birth certificates!

"I baptise this child A Young Bespectacled Barry 'Producer' Letts." I detect the use of communion wine for recreational uses somewhere...

Just been watching what exists of 'The Quatermass Experiment', and in those two episodes alone I saw Duncan Lamont, Paul Whitsun-Jones, Moray Watson, Peter Bathurst and Neil Wilson. There was another actor who I was convinced was Cyril Shaps, but sadly it wasn't - however, he does turn up in 'Quatermass II'!

Slight reverse - comedian Bob Mills remarked on Fighting Talk yesterday about playing a bodyguard in a Peter Davison story (Snakedance).

The Robert Powell version of 39 steps yesterday was packed full of DW stars.

Doctor Who's Mum or whatever she was Susan Brown off of The End Of Time popped up on my box tonight in an episode of much loved and well remembered sitcom Spiller's Day. With (stunningly awful) music by Paddy Kingsland no less.

A whole host of Who-type people in Radio 4's George Orwell season lately: Christopher Eccleston, Tim Piggott-Smith and Don Gilet in an excellent adaptation of 'Nineteen Eighty-Four'; 'Animal Farm' read by Tamsin Greig; Clive Merrison reading several essays in 'Book of the Week'; and from SJA, Maria's dad, Joseph Milson playing Orwell himself in a series of biographical dramas.

Was Eccles playing Winston? I can see him doing that part.

He certainly was, and he did it very well - quite a different role for him really, plying a more downtrodden character.

Of course, he's not the first Doctor to have played Winston Smith.

I saw Gatherer Hade from the Sun Makers in it the other night, funnily enough.

Indeed - the recorder has been working overtime this week ( though, like the Professionals, the episodes seem to be completely random)

John Barrowman was joined by Alex Kingston in Arrow, Monday night.
