Seek - Locate - Destroy for Blakes 7 yesterday, meaning of course the arrival of Jaqueline Pearce!! Also spotted Peter Miles there, as well as those funky wall panels from the likes of The Mutants, etc.

Mission to Destiny on the Blakes 7 front this morning, a slightly lacklustre whodunit set on a mysterious ship - not mysterious in plot terms, but mysterious in that it was made up of a bizarre mix of film and video!! It also sported the self-same style of doorhandle as the TARDIS in the 80s (ie, the sort of square handle the Doctor tied his scarf to in Castrovalva).
Spotted aboard: John Leeson; Drax from The Armageddon Factor; Nimrod from Ghost Light (also in Planet of the Spiders); Bulic from Warriors of the Deep... and Mr Hopwood from Grange Hill!!!
A rich seam of 'spotting' indeed!!!

Burn Gorman (Torchwood) in the immense pile of shite that is Pacific Rim, seemingly channelling William Hartnell and acting like he'd come through a time portal from 1950s BBC using phrases like "By jove"....
Also Hollyoaks, where one of the more recent arrivals to the soap is a fan who named his three daughters Leela, Tegan and Peri.“If my sons did not want wars, there would be none.” - Gutle Schnaper Rothschild

Peter Capaldi is still to be seen, being brilliantly underhand, in The Musketeers; which I'm still enjoying.

I was putting out some new cds at work the other day, and someone had printed the sticker for the new Jim Capaldi cd as Peter Capaldi by mistake. Does that count?

I forgot to mention last week's new Midsomer Murders, which was a bit like an End of Time reunion! Bernard Cribbins, Jacqueline King and June Whitfield! Laila Rouass (The Death of the Doctor) was in it too.
In case any of you have taped but not yet seen it, I won't reveal which of the above turns out to be the murderer......

We've been ploughing through Silent Witness, including an episode where Geoffrey Beevers played a vicar who helped to end the life of aids sufferers....
Very good he was in the role, too.

This weekend's B7 update is Duel, featuring Isla Blair and Patsy "Make an 'orse sick" Smart as guest aliens. I'm not 100% sure (although I'm sure Si will know) but was Isla wearing a reused Axon bodysuit?
Oh, and Douglas Camfield directed which probably accounts for why it was such an enjoyable episode, despite a pretty slim premise.

I'm not sure myself, but I know it was rather, er, revealing...

And I'd forgotten about the Camfield/Simpson business - I'd registered the sparse incidentals, but not twigged the reason why.

Wasn't it to do with Camfield believing that Dudley was paid a lot more than he actually was, and when Dudley denied it Camfield just would not believe it? I remember eading about it years ago, and it sounded a bit daft - one of those misunderstandings that maybe gets a little out of hand?

I watched (and thoroughly enjoyed) Thor The Dark World last night, but it was only when the credits rolled that I remembered that it was Christopher Ecclestone as the main villain. Whilst I'd been watching it I'd thought he was okay, but funnily enough I'd found his voice was a bit irritating and oddly lightweight.

Lots of Nether-realms have a north? The Dark World was good but I think suffered from being too much like every other super-hero film, so it was probably a problem with me rather than the film itself!
As for Eccleston? A bit lost in the rubber suit, I thought. Save your best actors for the human roles and give this stuff to people like The Rock!Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Ep 9 of Blakes 7 (Project Avalon) gives us an obvious spot in David Bailie... well, I say obvious, actually it took me ten minutes before I realised why I recognised him. And also Stuart Fell. I sort of think I recognised the wizened old Federation scientist chap, but I don't know why.
And this morning's penultimate Season 1 ep of B5 gave a return for yer man who played the Brigadier-alike in Scream of the Shalka. (You'll let me know if I'm giving too much detail won't you.)

That's a cracking good episode! Always good to see Troughton playing something different and he makes for a thoroughly nasty second-hand car salesman.

A young Valentine Dyall in the 1945 film "I Know Where I'm Going!" Also in the film was John Laurie, who actually choreographed the Ceilidh!
