The On The uses films have been broadcast today and over the last two Sundays. Naturally, Michael Robbins was in all three, and Michael Sheard was in Holiday On the Buses.

I've been watching Bleak House from 2005 (I think) which features:

Esther Summerson — Anna Maxwell Martin (Suki, The Long Game)
    Richard Carstone — Patrick Kennedy
Ada Clare — Carey Mulligan (Sally Sparrow, Blink)
    Harold Skimpole — Nathaniel Parker
Lady Dedlock — Gillian Anderson (Her from the X Files)
Sir Leicester Dedlock — Timothy West
    Rosa — Emma Williams
    Mr Tulkinghorn — Charles Dance
    Bucket — Alun Armstrong
Guppy — Burn Gorman (Owen, Torchwood)
    Clamb — Tom Georgeson
    Mr Kenge — Alistair McGowan
Miss Flite — Pauline Collins (Queen Victoria, Tooth and Claw)
    Mr Vholes — Dermot Crowley
    Snagsby — Sean McGinley
    Gridley — Tony Haygarth
    Chancellor — Ian Richardson
    Allan Woodcourt — Richard Harrington
    Mr Krook — Johnny Vegas
Mr Smallweed — Phil Davis (Fires of Pompeii)
    Mercury — Richard Cant
    Judy — Loo Brealey
    Sergeant George — Hugo Speer
    Nemo — John Lynch
    Mrs Jellyby — Liza Tarbuck
    Caddy Jellyby — Nathalie Press
    Jenny — Charlie Brooks
    Prince Turveydrop — Bryan Dick
Old Mr Turveydrop — Matthew Kelly
Mr Bayham Badger — Richard Griffiths (Nearly the forth and fifth Doctors Who)
    Mrs Badger — Joanna David
    Boythorn — Warren Clarke
    Mrs Pardiggle — Roberta Taylor
    Mr Chadband — Robert Pugh
Mrs Chadband — Catherine Tate (Donna Noble, Runaway Bride etc)
    Coroner — Peter Guinness
Mrs Guppy — Sheila Hancock (Helen A, Happiness Patrol)
    Harriet — Lisa Hammond
    Hortense — Lilo Baur
Mrs Rouncewell — Anne Reid (Plasmavore, Smith and Jones)
    Jo — Harry Eden
    Mr Tangle — Sevan Stephan
    Charley Neckett — Katie Angelou

I'm sure they've almost all been in Doctor Who - can anyone fill in the gaps?

Roberta Taylor hasn't been in TV Who, but was in "The Holy Terror" for Big Finish.

Matthew Kelly played The Rark in "Mindwarp".

I don't know if Timothy West has been in any TV Who but he was in Big Finish Who - Cuddlesome (free on DWM) and 8th Dr and Lucy adventure Phobos.

Peter Guinness was also in a Big Finish, possibly the same one as his missus, Robreta Taylor. Meanwhile, Richard Cant was also in 'Blink', while Liza Tarbuck was in 'The Infinite Quest'. Bryan Dick appeared in an episode of 'Torchwood' ('Adam', I think).

The two 'other' first Doctors, Peter Cushing and Richard Hurndall, were both in Aliens of The Mind, a BBC Radio play that I've just finished listening to. It was based on an idea by Robert Holmes and co-starred Peter Cushing and Vincent Price as a gay couple investigating mootants on the Isle of Luic in the Outer Hebrides. It was also pretty awful.

I've just seen 'Time Flight' star Michael Cashman MEP, campaigning for votes in Brierley Hill.

Did anyone see Eastenders tonight, in which Whitney and a new male admirer (played by Neil McCormack) were holed up in the 'Kaff' by Nasty Nick Cotton? Purely by chance, we watched "The Next Doctor" immediately afterwards and there was Neil M again, played Jed! So add him to the list of people (well, him and Cheryl Fergison) to have graduated from Who to Stenders.

Nicholas Courtney (who seems to turn up in most ITC series of the sixties) in The Saint episode The Abductors, complete with dodgy French accent, from July 1965.

We've been watching 1987's Aliens in the Family, which is almost impossibly 1987. It has music by Roger Limb.

Better than that - he's bloody brilliant in it and not at all like Doctor Who!

I agree with you, he was fantastic in it and it was a shame he was murdered in it.

I'll never forgive Roger Lloyd Pack for trying to stab Morse!
Roger's been good friends with Anneke Wills for years, don't you know.

I can't remember which one Clive Swift was in.

The Morse episode Clive Swift was in was called The Silent World of Nicolas Quinn. I am just watching another Morse episode which has John Normington in. Morgus in Caves of Androzarni.

Not exactly 'spotting' as such, but... at work today my boss was talking about his director friend - who turns out to be Paul 'Graff Vynda-K' Seed!!! Small universe isn't it!
