#49 in the charts! It's true! Between Usher and Paulo Nutini. It outsold the "Bona Drag" re-issue!

The Series 5 CD is the best release for ages. Far better music than on either the Specials or the Series 4 CD before that. Murray seems to have been inspired by the last set of stories and has produced something rather lovely for them all- even The Lodger which seems to get more tracks than it deserved.

The music from The Pandorica Opens/ The Big Bang is wonderfully epic and I adore the stuff from The Eleventh Hour.

Half way through it - pretty ace. Although media player seems to think it's the 2007 disc at the moment! Which rather f***s up the track listing

When I put the latest series disc 1 onto my laptop and saved the music, the tracks came up as being from the first CD - eg, Westminstrer Bridge, Father's Day etc. although the music is as per the CD sleeve.

Thats a lot of tracks for just one episode. Surely there will be a lot of repetition?

The Christmas Carol CD is really rather lovely- beautiful, tingly music. The carol itself is rather spooky and beautiful too. It's good to hear it without everyone talking over it!

    It's confirmed as a 2 CD release

By the way the two tracks used for the trailers (plus another track used for the Planet Dinosaur trailer) which aren't by Murray Gold can be heard on the album Invincible by Two Steps to Hell.

If anyone wants to download just the specific tracks they are Tristan and Protectors of the Earth.

Sorry to hijack this thread but Tristan is just such a great piece.

I really ought to get some more of the Murray Gold soundtracks. I've got a couple of them already and i do like them quite a lot, but as lovely as they are, I find the electronic stuff appeals to me more and so that tends to be what I listen to when I get that spare 20 seconds to myself!

Following on from the chart topping success of recent Doctor Who soundtrack releases, comes a further 2CD set of striking Murray Gold music.

Seven years of composing riveting music for Doctor Who has led to Murray’s work being performed at special Proms concerts at the Royal Albert Hall, a celebration of the music at the Millennium Centre Cardiff and a place in the Classic FM Hall Of Fame.

This will be the eighth Doctor Who soundtrack release and is due out this autumn.
