Murray Gold Soundtrack CDs Thread-Day/ Time in Nov
Is there not a new thread on this yet? Could've sworn I'd read one!
Anyway, it's out next week isn't it? You can buy the individual tracks on iTunes now though, for 79p or 7.99 for the full album. I've downloaded "Doomsday" cos I fancied listening to it now, even though I've got the album coming this weekend hopefully!
Beautiful stuff, and it's prompted me to download a load of my favourite film scores too to make a nice soothing playlist on iTunes.

I saw a copy in the shops today. There is a suggestion that the limited edition (with card slipcase and badge) was out 4/12, with the standard edition to follow 11/12.

Well mina has been dispatched from Play, so I'll let you know which version I get at the weekend...
I'm really looking forward to it. As a big fan of Doctor Who soundtrack albums (sad I know!) it's been a long, long time since we had anything new...

I'm also a big fan of Doctor Who soundtracks (and there's nothing sad about it Mr Hart)!
Does anyone know if this CD contains music from 'Series 1'? So far I've seen comments about 'Doomsday' and 'Girl in the Fireplace' etc, but not about anything from series 1.
I would love to hear the sound track to 'Father's Day' for example (I love all that miserable sounding piano stuff)!!!
The link to the 'Foxy' on-line album doesn't yet have a track listing.

Yes there is music from Season 1! I downloaded it from iTunes yesterday.

Yes it has 'Father's Day' on it. The release date was orginally 4/12, but due to under-estimated demand, they put the date back a week so as to cope with stock better. It seems a few people got their stock early. My favourites are 'Girl In The Fireplace', 'Doomsday', 'The Daleks', 'Cassandra's Waltz' & 'The Doctor's Theme'.

ok! Thanks Ant.
Will it be a tradition for each christmas episode to have a song with lyrics, do you think?

Thanks for the information guys; I'm very pleased that it has some music from series 1 on it (in addition to some of the great stuff that he did for series 2).
He's not my favourite Who incidental music scorer but I do think he is better than many give him credit for.
We are lucky in a way - we could have got Keff and his 'casio' sounds again!!!

I got the badge with mine, but it is very small and not very exciting.
Unlike the CD, which was just fab!

I've been bought this CD for Christmas. It's sitting under the Christmas tree at the moment and taunting me. I really want to listen to it now, but I must wait until Christmas Day.
The pain, it's unbearable!!!!

I've really enjoyed this!
'The Daleks' is one that really impressed me, ever since I first heard it in the show.

Is it me or does the album version of the main theme sound incredibly disjointed? It's as though they merged three different versions- badly.
The rest of the album is pretty good though.

I've borrowed it from my brother, and really enjoyed it. I was rather amused to note that it was produced by a company called Torchwood Technologies!
I've been humming the Boom Town music and the Doomsday stuff on and off all day!

I'm very happy with this CD (apart from the final 'Delia Derbyshire' old theme note being missed off the end of the album version of the theme).
Madame Du Pomp, Doomsday, The Daleks, The stuff from Satin Pit and the Impossible Planet, the Doctor's theme and the reason I bought the CD in the first place: Father's day are all excellent.
In fact I find watching the episodes more enjoyable now that I can appreciate some of the music more.
Like I said before, Murray is not my favourite 'Who' composer, but the more I hear him the better I seem to like him.

I heard a rumour that it will feature a brand new version of the theme tune that will debut in series four.
