They'd better mention Django Reinhardt.

Django WHO?
Nah, I know who he is. He does get mentioned quite often in 'Best Guitarist Ever' lists
Should be interesting though. I don't think there's been any great guitarists, as in guitar heroes, since the mid 90's.Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Go back at least another decade.
Yay for Django! It was a good first installment. I enjoyed the historical stuff with the lutes & everything. And finishing with the beginnings of the electric guitar was a logical place to pause before the next installment, which i'm guessing might start in the 1940's when Charlie Christian was the first person to bring the amplified guitar to the limelight in the jazz world.
I expect it will then go on to cover Rock & Roll, & Hank/The Shads etc... I think the next programme will be really good if it covers the 50's, 60's, 70's. Should be some top names in there from Hank through to Hendrix in the 60's, & the great rock guitarists of the 70's. Yay for Jimmy Page!
I expect all the crap stuff from the 80's onwards will be in the last show. I mean, the friggin 'edge' for chrisakes!

Ta Pip! He's really clever isn't he, Bill Bailey. Much better guitarist than The edge as well. Infact, almost everyone is.

Loads of great stuff tonight. :wayne
Hawaiian guitar, some great country picking, Blues & slide guitar, Jazz, Rock & Roll.
Highlights for me: Charlie Christian, Les Paul, T-Bone Walker, Scotty Moore, The Shads, & a taste of things to come with Hendrix.

You missed Dave Gilmour playing his 1954 Strat this week. I think he's on this Sunday as well.
