Looks like Recovery (drama with David Tennant and Sarah Parish) has been pushed back to next year. Five Days sounds interesting, but Rough Diamond sounds like Trainer!!

Armstrong & Miller (originally in the Autumn preview) and Harry Enfield are mentioned in the Entertainment and Comedy section:

    The Harry Enfield Show

Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse return to BBC One this winter with an outstanding new sketch series. Accompanied by Morwenna Banks and Perrier Award-winner Laura Solon, the series is stuffed to the gills with hilarious new creations from the godfather of British character comedy.

The series is written by Harry, Paul and the cast as well as long-time collaborator Dave Cummings with Bert Tyler Moore and George Jeffrey. It is directed by Tristram Shapeero (Greenwing, Peepshow).
Comic Relief does The Apprentice and Fame Academy next year! I thought they were only doing one of them!?

    Archer back in court

Disgraced politician Jeffrey Archer's rehabilitation via reality television continues, with the confirmation he will take part in a new BBC2 show in which 12 celebrities act as the jury in a fictitious court case.

Archer has already agreed to take part in new ITV1 show Fortune, in which he will give away his own money to members of the public.

The latest television outing is a further re-entry back into the public eye following his four-year jail sentence in 2001 for perjury and perverting the course of justice.

In The Verdict, Archer will join 11 other famous faces, including Blur bass player Alex James, actress Honor Blackman and Sara Payne, the mother of murdered schoolgirl Sarah, as the jury in a mock case featuring a footballer charged with rape.

The BBC2 controller, Roly Keating, said the series, which will air over four nights early next year, will show the inner workings of the jury system.

"This is a hugely ambitious project which brings the law to life in a completely new way," he said.

The show, made by independent production company RDF Television, is one of the highlights of BBC2's winter and spring 2007 schedule, which was unveiled today.

Other new shows include new Jennifer Saunder's comic creation The Life and Times of Vivienne Vyle, which will satirise confessional television shows; while new drama Party Animals, from the makers of This Life, World Productions, will be set in the world of politics and lobbyists.

Graham Norton will present his next BBC series on the channel, with The Graham Norton Show billed as a late-night chatshow taking a "distinctly irreverent" take on trends, stories and celebrity culture.

The Conspiracy Files threatens to reopen the controversy over the death of government scientist Dr David Kelly, when it looks at alternative stories as to how he died. The series will also feature 9/11 and the Oklahoma bombing.

Top Gear will also return, as will presenter Richard Hammond who was injured while filming for the show, although Mr Keating said no decision had yet been taken as to whether footage of his crash will be included in the new run.

Mr Keating added that he also wanted to introduce new faces to the channel, and has given Coast presenter Dr Alice Roberts her own show, Dr Alice, in which she will attempt to help people live longer by "loving our internal organs".

Edited to add: I forgot to mention the return of Rome, Hyperdrive, It's Not Easy Being Green a documentary about Robert Maxwell and two new Stephen Poliakoff films:

The Last Days Of The Raj and The Seven Ages of Rock also look interesting.

    The Seven Ages Of Rock

Rock is the music that refuses to go away. It is now enjoying a renaissance via bands such as Arctic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand, who are reviving the sound of guitar-based rock.

With incredible exclusive access and interviews and rare performance archive, The Seven Ages Of Rock charts the definitive history of the emergence and rebirth of rock as a global force.

Made by the team which produced the critically acclaimed and award-winning Soul Deep and Lost Highway, the series explores seven eras of musicians who have shaped rock.

The journey goes from the blues-based guitar rock of Jimi Hendrix to Oasis and beyond, stopping en route to delve into progressive rock, punk, heavy metal, stadium, grunge and indie.

Isn't someone being termed a "celebrity" because her daughter was murdered, then going on to 'mock' judge a pretend rape case, just the most tasteless thing on every level?

The premise of the programme is actually quite interesting, but the fictional crime and the "celebrity" jury is about as trashy and tasteless as a Channel Five documentary. It would be more interesting - although sadly not legal, I imagine - to see a real case coming to court and seeing how a real jury would work.

Or even a mock case with a real jury. Why shoe horn "celebrities" into it? Surely it demeans the whole idea.
And with the term celebrity getting broader all the time it won't be long before we're all celebrities.
