Default What do you do for a living.

Now I seem to be posting more on this sexy new forum than I did on the old place, I thought I would like to get to know my fellow members a bit better. So, may I be bold and ask you what you all do for a living? Do you work? Are you a Student? Unemployed?

Me? I am a Revenue Manager with London Underground and I am based at Baker Street. That's me.

    What about you?
I’m being extremely clever up here and there’s no one to stand around looking impressed! What’s the point in having you all?

    Hi Wayne.

I'm making a concerted effort to be here more often so I can get to know more people on here and maybe show my ugly mug at the next London meet.

Well, Duncan, I'm a forklift driver/storeman in a cheese factory. Maybe not exciting but it's fun driving those trucks all day!

I'm a library assistant at a busy public library in Bracknell. I've recently got my MSc which will allow to work as a proper librarian, so in the new year I'll be looking for a new job.

Most of my job seems to be dealing with menopausal members of the team I work with. Just nod and don't say anything seems to work fine.

    Si xx

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

I spend all day telling ungrateful teenagers to ignore any science they see on The Impossible Planet or the Nine O'clock news, and show them videos from the 1960s instead.

I work in an office, but because it's a small company the only office staff is my boss and a lady who works two days a week - so my duties cover buying, selling, accounts, wages, plus stock-checking, packing, shipping, bit of admin, bit of rugger, CO in the School Corps...

I'm a New Deal Personal Adviser at the Jobcentre in Sheerness and I'm also the Deputy Advisory Services Manager.

It's crap at times but the money's ok.

Like Mr Hart, I too am a librarian, specialising in displays and posters. I'd like to do something that doesn't involve speaking to members of the public, particularly kids from 8-18.

I'm a Pensions Calculation Analyst and Coder. Which is a frustratingly brief transposition away from being able to be abbreviated to CACK.

I manage the disposal of hazardous waste from a big university in central London. There's loads of paperwork but I get to meet people from various departments as well as liase with contractors. I also get to muck about with dangerous chemicals and radioactivity which is great fun.
I also occassionally drive a fork lift truck and it is great fun although our truck is some awful eastern european thing that only seems to have two modes, driving at full speed and stop!

As of early last month, I am an Operations Administrator for an international rail freight forwarding company, moving and tracking wagons from the Continent to the UK and back. And I'm really loving it!

As most of the regulars of Old PS know, I drive a fork lift truck in a busy pot Noodle plant in South Wales.

UNILEVER ROCK I don't think so They're a **** company to work for, pays the bills though.

First time I've ever been victim of the filter
