A couple of years before the Crosstown Traffic jeans advert, The Jimi Hendrix Experience were my escape capsule in school along with Sylvester McCoy's Doctor.

If you have to save one album from a burning building it has to be The BBC Sessions. The sound of the best three piece at their peak. Cream couldn't quite eclipse the hypnotic tribal space drone and Led Zeppelin for all their sales always came second to the Experience.

I hope now the band become the biggest thing on the planet now nostalgia for happier times is kicking in.
