Default 2.5 The Temptation of Sarah Jane Smith.

So what did we think of a Time travelling Sarah Jane?
Should she know better than to temp fate with a personal look in to her own past?
What did we (who saw it, pt2) think of Sarah Jane's little fax pah?

I quite liked the story over all. It was very good & a typical Sarah Jane adventure. I can't say too much as some peeps don't see the CBBC episode.

I just saw it. Pretty good stuff, but couldn't they have got someone better to play SJS's dad?

Definitely the best one so far for me.
I laughed at the Beckhams joke, & i thought the emotional consequences for Sarah hit just the right note. And i fancied Sarah's Mum.
And Uncle Alistair is back next week!

The last thing I saw with Temptation in the title was The Last Temptation Of Christ.

Surely the title alone proves that Liz Sladens ego has gone too far and she must be stopped!

I'm fairly certain Liz Sladen didn't write this though.

Well although not back, this story had some bloody cheek.

Even my 10 year old son twigged "this is just Father's Day". And yup, that's all it is. Pretty much take the same story, put it in the 50s instead of the 80s.

    It felt absolutely incredibly lazy.

    "The Miners on Peladon"
"Never in one place long enough to lick a stamp"

Good first episode we thought. The devestated Earth was really well realised. Poor Big Ben, it always suffers in the Doctor Who universe.

    THANK YOU!!!

It was doing my head in watching it thinking "Where the hell have I seen him before?"

Absolutely blooming fantastic stuff this time out. Poor old Sarah-Jane! There was about 2 seconds where I saw the Police Box and thought that they might seriously be having Paul McGann turn up to explain the Time War... close shave eh?

The Trickster is a fantastic villain, visually dramatic and very scary.

Outstanding and the best story of the season so far.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

I've only seen the first episode but I agree, it was superb! The pace was just right and Sladen handled the emotional stuff well.

I knew that boy would turn out to be the Graske.

There was a Police Box in it? I missed that!

It was a good episode if as others have said very "Father's DaY" with a bit of "Last of the Time Lords" chucked in.

A shame the young Aunt Lavinia couldn't have been in it though and the Police Box was a bit cheap and nasty looking but a good gag.

I wasn't mad on SJ's Princess Bubble Yum pink ensemble.

Also, they missed a trick not having Sladen playing her mother and the baby.

This was on the whole a good episode, an obvious attempt to sequel "Whatever Happened To...", it did all feel a bit "Fathers Day" though, and a bit "Last of the Time Lords" and ugh for that horrid garish wash they put on all the village sequences. It was nice to see the Graske given some character development, and the Trickster was even better than before. A great performance from Sladen and I liked her last scene with her Mum and Dad... the only complaint was it felt a bit samey, not least because it was trying to follow up the best episode of SJS.

I'm still annoyed that the Trickster isn't played by Bruce Spence.

Or Ian Levine. He's got the face for it.

I watched part 2 this evening - I have to admit to being slightly disappointed. Not for the fact that it was really a rehash of Father's Day, but more for the fact that there seemed to be a bit too much running around without getting anywhere; plus, my main 'gripe' is that when Mr & Mrs Smith went off in the car, it wasn't really obvious what was going to happen. Other than everybody being miserable, there was no sense that they were going to die - not even when the car merrily chugged away, we didn't get any 'crash in the distance' noises or any sort of reaction. It just felt very muted somehow.

Plus, and to be fair I suppose that perhaps they wanted her not to go too wild for kids TV, I don't think Lis's "I've met my parents and now they're going to die, boo hoo" acting was anywhere near as good as Billie's in the aforementioned Father's Day (in fact I got a bit fed up hearing "You're my Mum, you're my Dad" by the end of the episode).

So, it was... OK, but surprisingly I'd say the weak spot of the series so far - although, I did like the final 'reveal' of the writing on the back of the photo.

Plus the trailer for next week's Big Brigadier Bonanza got me, and particularly Zel (who has a bit of a thing for Nicholas Courtney, quite frankly) very excited indeed. Five rounds rapid indeed!!!
