    Default Cliff Wants Six Bad!

Sir Clifferton was just on The New Paul O'Grady Show performing his smokin' new Christmas single '21st Century Christmas' It's clearly his best Christmas effort since 'We Should Be Together' in 1991.

'Move It' (with Brian May and Brian Bennett) is also on the disc and it p*sses all over the original.

Could it be a Christmas Top Five Smash? It's better than 'Santa's List'.

I might even buy his Two's Company - The Duets album:

    1. Move It with Brian May and Brian Bennett
    2. Anyone Who Had A Heart with Dionne Warwick
    3. Miss You Nights with G4
    4. Yesterday Once More with Daniel O' Donnell
    5. She Means Nothing To Me with Phil Everly
    6. All I Ask Of You with Sarah Brightman
    7. Let There Be Love with Matt Monro
    8. Throw Down A Line with Hank Marvin
    9. Fields Of Gold with Barry Gibb
    10. Up Where We Belong with Anne Murray
    11. Slow Rivers with Elton John
    12. Suddenly with Olivia Newton-John
    13. Danny Boy with Helmut Lotti
    14. Reunited with Lulu

    Watching the interview right now...

and he's still a smug git, though.

Cliff, bless 'im, can piss off. He's one of the few things I truly hate about Christmas.

You may now hate me if you wish.

Cliff is great, a timeless institution! I may well buy his album, just despite the cynical ("General Grugger's") who slag him off.

Is it true that Sir Cliff is now only 5,000 copies behind Take That?

Edited to add: He's performing on Friday's This Morning as well...

He was even on bloody Strictly Come Dancing. Nice shuffle!

Still won't be enough to topple Take That.

Especially when it makes him so much money.

I've bought his album for my sister, she'll be looking forward to it.
I don't dislike Cliff myself, don't see any harm in him or his Christian beliefs, prefer his pop output though.

Good effort from Sir Clifferton, but not enough to shift The That.

    From Music Week:

While album sales forge ahead, singles are off 4% week-on-week at 1,266,194, with no single able to challenge the continuing supremacy of Take Thats Patience.

Changes in the market mean Patience is not one of Take Thats bigger sellers (191,689 sales so far) but their ninth chart-toppers four week run at the summit equals their personal best, set by Pray in 1993 and equalled by Back For Good in 1995.

The weeks highest debut belongs to chart veteran Cliff Richard. 48 years after Move It gave Cliff Richard his first hit, he registers his 121st Top 40 hit with 21st Century Christmas and a new version of Move It, this time featuring Brian May and Brian Bennett. The double A-sided single debuts at number two on sales of 23,787, instantly matching the chart peak of the original Move It. Assuming the new single has peaked - Leona will certainly keep it off the top - it is Cliffs first number two since 1989s The Best Of Me, and the 11th of his career.
'The Best of Me' was robbed. Damn the Donovan!

Cliff's not had a number two since 1989?

    Must be very painful.

Cliff's 121 hits is an amazing record! Good for him! I tried to buy the single on Saturday but it was sold out everywhere!

Not got the single as yet, but I bought his new album as soon as it came out. Nothing amazing, but a good 'un nonetheless. He still hasn't topped 'As Real As I Wanna Be'.
    I am out there... somewhere.

That's one for every home for the elderly in Britain that's got it to No.2.
Besides, you only have to sell about 3 copies to get a No.1 these days.

His duets effort may be a guilty post-Christmas purchase for me. I can use up any record tokens I get for Crimbo.

Except James already said it had to sell 23,787 to get where it did

It's still one of the lowest-selling number twos this year. Piss-poor sales last week.
