Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for it next time I'm passing.

Ten Little Aliens by Stephen Cole
Doctor Who does Agatha Christie. There's not been a murder yet and I'm 10% through. Mind you, there's not been much Doctor, Ben or Duchess yet.
You can tell by my "10%" comment that I'm reading it on my Kindle!

I remember liking that one when it was first released. It's probably not like any other first Doctor story ever, but it seems to work nicely.
I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

I didn't read it 'first time round' but picked it up recently in its large '50th Anniversary' form. Really enjoyed it, Stephen Cole's usually a reliable pair of hands and comes up trumps here. The only real quibble I had is that it doesn't really come across as that much of an Agatha Christie Whodunnit, despite the billing.

I've been re-reading the Target novelisatoons in order, interspersing them between non Doctor Who related books. I've got through to and completed Tomb of the Cybermen. There have been some I've enjoyed far more than I expected and remembered them being such as Power of the Daleks. However, a few I used to enjoy bemused me with how poorly the authors captured the characters of the TARDIS crew. Yep Space Museum I'm looking at you.

I don't mind the book as such, but he got Ian's character all wrong as well as the Doctor's.

Ah, so it's not just me that's a glutton for punishment then! As bedtime reading I've been, for a laugh, reading them in alphbetical order. (Phone the ambulance now!) Can't comment on The Space museum yet, I've most recently finished The Paradise Of Death, which is at least good at covering the central characters' internal thoughts.

GodEngine by Craig Hinton. Great background for the Ice Warriors, even if some of it has been rendered obsolete lately, but could something start happening plotwise...?

I enjoyed it, but I know what you mean Stuart - I remember reading it during lunchtimes at work back in 2001/2 and it did kind of feel that it was never going to end... And yet, as I say, I really enjoyed it! Bizarre.

Mystery in White by J Jefferson Farjeon
This 1937 Christmas murder mystery has been a surprise hit on its reissue this year. It's about a group of train passengers stranded in the snow who find shelter in a mysterious house that is deserted and yet, the fire is on and food is prepared. And then there's a moider!!! It's rather good

I'm reading the first DW I ever read way back when (1979 I think) - Doctor Who and Cybermen. I shall then watch Moonbase and compare the sets in my head to the sets on screen :-)

I think it's the first Doctor Who book I read, and at about the same time.

Destiny of the Daleks for me. My Mum read it to me after we borrowed it from my cousin.

I think mine was The Sontaran Experiment... Back in the days when I didn't know how to pronounce Sontaran! 😊
