    Default I'm back!

    It's been several months since I last posted, as some of you will know I have been working on my Masters degree and getting my self-employment set up.

    I am delighted to announce that I have passed my Masters (in Astrophysics - and I even specifically asked about planets orbiting black holes.....) and got my tutoring website up and running (www.thompsontutoring.co.uk).

    I am back and ready to post! Woooo!

    Welcome back.

    Now in all seriousness - do you know anyone who wants a job load of "quantum theory of light" type text books??? I have a job load of physics books I don't want to move with me, but don't think they'll be big sellers down Oxfam.

    I sold a whole bunch of my textbooks on Amazon - getting a seller account is really easy, and your listing stays up for (I think) 60 days at a time, with no sell no fee.

    I might try that, although I won't hold my breath, some are specialist titles. It's not the money, I just want to see them off to a good home.

    Well done Emma. Just had a look at the website; you've set your stall out nicely.

    Course if you wanted tutoring to take off, you should have chosen some more popular subjects - no-one takes physics these days!

    Thanks - it's my first website. It is being added to all the time, it's not been up long! Fingers crossed!

    What does the "January 1 1970" bit mean? And the "read more" link just links to the main page again

    I haven't the faintest idea - can't find where it has come from or how to get rid of it.

    Yes I know - can't get rid of that, either.

    I've loads of mistakes on my Ultrastar Ltd website which I keep meaning to fix!

    Oh and I have my company logo as a tattoo - which takes branding to a whole new level.

    Emma very few people know html like that.

    I've used html, but it's such a complex language to lay out anything, generally most people use some kind of "tool" to create it, and will only use html to "tweak and correct".

    Absolutely. I used to make some webpages using the Microsoft Office package that I can't even remember the name of, but it would often leave liddly twiddly bits that I couldn't seem to correct within the package. So I'd open the html file on Notepad or something and poke around in there. I don't really know html, but looking at your page I'd guess you could load it into notepad and remove this section...

    <!--- BEGIN BOX 1 --->

    <table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0">
    <tr>
    <td class="boxTitle1">

    <span class="boxDateTitle1">January-1-1970</span>
    </td></tr>
    <tr>
    <td class="boxContent1">

    </td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td class="boxReadMore1">
    <a href="index.php?bShow=&cat=1">Read more...</a>
    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>

    <!--- END BOX 1 --->
    and it would probably remove those things. Or you could just edit it to show something more closely resembling the real date at the least if you don't want to fiddle with it too much. Save it as a copy of course in case it buggers everything up.
