I get the feeling that there's going to be no official confirmation of this rumour as RTD is going to want to keep this a very big seceret..

    More tabloid spoilery stuff...

The Michael Sheen rumours from a few days ago have been picked up by The Sun. They also report that Elize Du Toit (Ex-Hollyoaks actress) has landed a role in the new series:

Oh wow, I've only just read all this! John Simm as The Master would be interesting casting. I actually think he could bring something new to the role while staying true to it; I expect he coul dbe quite a goading sarcastic kind of Master (I can even imagine Tennant's eyes bulging in anger as I type! )

    We shall see!

It didn't take Carol long to reduce this thread to Tennant's bulge!

Freema looks better with her hair down.

    24/10

Edited to add: At least it ain't as wide as Piper's:

    "Excellent bottom!"

to be honest I don't know why they just did not hold back and go for the usual Easter start as it would only of been another week.

Probably because a later start means more light evening and lower ratings!

After reading the latest DWM Spoilers, I'm looking forward to ...

'Human Nature', 'Blink', 'The Sound of Drums', Ellie Haddington, Alexandra Moen, Elize Du Toit and Nichola McAuliffe.

Going by posts on OG/Roobarb's, titles confirmed in DWM are:

Episode 8 - Human Nature (Written by Paul Cornell)
Episode 10 - Blink (Written by Steven Moffat)
Episode 12 - The Sound of Drums (Written by RTD)

Some interesting rumours of titles for episodes 3/5/13 kicking about on other sites as well.

Well, there has been no BBC announcement on that date. It could very well be correct but the last two series have started on the Easter weekend which for series three would be 7th April. The Dreamwatch site claim that the BBC have confirmed that date, but until they officially announce it then I'll take that date with a pinch of salt.
I’m being extremely clever up here and there’s no one to stand around looking impressed! What’s the point in having you all?

I'm curious, and slightly confused - can I just ask where it was confirmed that the new series was starting on 31st March? I know DWM don't always get everything right, but I'm surprised that they announced a 24th March date without official confirmation.

    Woo!

And to answer Dave: "The BBC is said to have confirmed the date to Dreamwatch Sci Fi after Doctor Who Magazine was told the start date would be March 24. The schedule was apparently changed after Doctor Who Magazine went to print and it was decided BBC One would be screening the England v Israel match as part of the European Championship that Saturday."

I doubt that'll be in an episode. It'll be like that trailer of C.E running down a tunnel followed by an explosion. Just for publicity only.

There was a clip of Tennant's Doctor running down a corridor escaping a big explosion in the trailer at the end of Runaway Bride, I guess it was based on that scene...

The Freema interview in the latest issue of Starburst seems to confirm that

scary "ugly scarecrows" appear in Cornell's two episodes. This sounds like the "Jack Straws" mentioned in the Tennant interview just before Christmas. The Scarecrow rumour has been kicking about for a few months now.

    According to Lizo of Newsround:

there's a mention of the new Harry Potter book in The Shakespeare Code

Episode 10 of Dr Who Confidential Series 3 will be 'presented' by David Tennant
