Despite loving the novel, and also liking the chess imagery in the backgorund, Dreams of Empire is only the second best cover in this group.

Combat Rock is one I haven't read, but it does have a great cover.

touygh choice between Players and Dreams of Empire, both are in my opinion very striking stand out covers and two excelent novels as well but i've gone for Dreams of Empire.

I've not read any of them, but I've gone for the chessy Dreams of Empire, if only because it's such a good choice of Troughton pic!

I misread that as cheesy Dreams Of Empire!

I've gone for that one, too. I can't make out what's supposed to be on the 'Combat Rock' cover, though.

It has to be Players, a fantastic book by Terrance, and the cover really reflects the grim humour therein!
One Day, I shall come back, Yes, I shall come back,
Until them, there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxieties, Just go forward in all your beliefs,
and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine!

I liked Players as a book, but it's cover isn't brilliant.

So Empire of Dreams wins for me, but this is a very uninspiring round really.

    Si xx

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

I've not read any of them.
It's a tough choice between the top two for me.
I just wished they had used the logo from the 'Combat Rock' cover on the top two. I'm not a fan of that 'drawn' version of that logo.

I think I would just rate 'Players' over 'Empire of Dreams' - not a lot in it though!

Another vote fro 'Dreams' here. Curiously the best book of the three, too. 'Rags' was way better than 'Combat Rock', both as a book and a cover.
    I am out there... somewhere.

Dreams Of Empire for me as well. Players, while being an excellent novel, is the poorest out of an excellent selection of covers.
