So the opening question is... why the heck am I doing some kind of Star Trek thing in the opening paragraph when this is a Doctor Who forum?

Yes and no- one of my cousins bought me an Escher calendar for Christmas, so that if I look up and slightly to the left, I can see something that looks a bit like Castrovalva, except in black and white. Which takes me back to my childhood when we could get BBC Wales on the portable in the back bedroom. But I'm trying to find a home for the Great Composers one which came with BBC Music Magazine, and I have a couple of desk calendars (Jack Daniels and one my Dad made up from his own photos of Superlambananas) currently without desks.

What does my choice of calendars say about me?

Not at all, Mr 'olmes. The ongoing Question Time saga just does exactly what it says on the tin (or would, if we had a tin). Each post answers the question above and poses the next question - questions can be anything at all, and as for answers, anything goes!!

Do you think Matt Smith will be anywhere near as good?

I do, I really do. I've no basis for that other than a general faith in the nature of things (to coin a phrase...) but I think he will. Moffat's take on the Doctor will, IMHO, be a little different to RTDs, and Smith's performance will be a little less conventional than David's (again, IMHO) so I think the difference will be there. I'm actually really excited, even though it's quite daunting to think that he's too young to remember such dramatic times as the 1985 hiatus!!

Am I sounding a bit over-excited do you think?
