Wasn't DT offered a "golden handcuffs" deal at one point? Might just have been rumour though.

He seems way to sensible to go for that, to be honest. I'm sure he's got his eyes on movies.

I'd not thought of him before as The Doctor, but I do think he'd be very good choice thinking about it!

That was posted about 6 weeks ago. It is an interesting slip up & I hope it's a red herring.

I suspect we'll have 30-odd minutes of tension-ratcheting looking back at the first ten, followed by the announcement at the end.

Remember when this appeared in the schedules, and people were complaining it was far too short to look back at the previous Doctors properly? Now everyone will just want them to be whizzed through as quickly as possible!

Chiwetel Ejiofor is the same age as Peter Davison, so it can't be him. It's all but guaranteed it's Smith now, isn't it?

wouldn't that be an irony we'd finally have a bloke really called Smith playing the doctor..

Matt Smith worked with Billy Piper in Ruby in the Smoke & The Secret Diary of a Call Girl, so there might be a link there for him.

    He's got my vote.

From that very short clip on the news I thought he looked good!
I don't like the idea of the Doctor being younger than me though!

It's Smith. It'll be interesting I guess, as I've never seen him in anything before, but I can't help but feel he's too young.

Grrr...I put a tenner on him! (It was a free ?10 bet though, and I thought it'd be him too, so I can't complain really! )

OMG Matt Smith?, this needs some thinking about! ;-)

Having seen him in Sally Lockhart Mysteries, I quite like the idea!
One Day, I shall come back, Yes, I shall come back,
Until them, there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxieties, Just go forward in all your beliefs,
and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine!

Christ, that's one ugly man there.

I don't think I've ever seen a forehead as big as that.

    Edit:

I can imagine many an enemy being frightened of that.
