Default Image of the Fendahl: Created out of pure energy and out now in the shops!

Yes, everyone's favourite last gasp of Gothic horror in season 15 tale is coming to DVD this year. Deleted and extended scenes are included apparently.

Commentary by Tom, Louise and Wanda Ventham I think.

Not one of my favourites, I don't think I shall be rushing out to buy it but it's good to see it being released

One of my very favourites. The cast is just amazing, as is the wonderful humour and atmosphere. I welcome it to my bosom on DVD!

"It can only have been created out of pure energy while the skull was restructuring Thea's brain" is one of my favourite lines of dialogue ever. Tom just rattles it off.

Fendahl is a great story. It's the best of season 15 by miles.

to be fair that wouldn't be that hard it's baffling how some thing as good as Image can come from the same season as Underworld and Invasion of Time

Bet they're all from crap U-matic tapes (so no extended version).

    But nice all the same.

I like this story but have never quite loved it. It suffers from a bit too much technobabble and some odd editing.

Actually, I haven't seen this episode. Do you think this trailer does it justice?

Yeah I'd say it does. Except the "Benny Hill" Fendahl.

I was never quite sure about Image of the Fendahl when I first saw it, but I've enjoyed it more with each subsequent viewing, and it has to be one of the creepiest, most genuinely supernatural stories of all. About time it was released.

    Image ... yes.

I love the ideas in here, and found it one of the cleverest of Doctor Who stories. I love how it mixes just a bit of folklore in there, to give the feeling of something "old" which has a kind of explanation to it. And it feels kind of slightly Hammer Horror.

But I don't think it quite works as well as I'd like it to. Still a valiant effect though. I'll have to rewatch (last saw in 1991).

I think I'll make a fruitcake in time for it's arrival. Fruitcake, licquorice allsorts and rock salt. With the best tea! Yum.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

The BBFC passed the commentary for this yesterday, so perhaps this could be the april release?

I wouldn't say it was miles ahead of Fang Rock...

Still a good story though, and another one missing from my collection at the moment, so I'm looking forward to it!

Last time I saw this was with Mr Hunt and some fruitcake. A boy who shall be nameless showed no interest and went for an afternoon nap.

I hope it comes in a commemorative fruitcake tin!

I don't like it the way Tom Baker makes it.
