My favourite is probably Inferno, I don't often find myself being that enthusiastic about the Pertwee six parters, which I tend to find quite enjoyable, but very padded. But the whole atmosphere of this story is thrilling, probably the most tense Doctor Who story ever made.

My least favourite is probably The Dominators, and I cant bring myself to talk much about it. But it's rubbish.

My favourite story would have to be Talons of Weng-Chiang. I love the whole Victorian London setting, Sherlock Holmesian themes and I of course Mr Sin. Visitation gives it a good run for its money though and is nearer to what I consider to be a traditional Doctor Who story. Also it was a story that falls into my 8 year old range, and had my Doctor.

The worst one is Greatest Show in the Galaxy, a title that is ahnuge contradiction in terms with what followed. It does have it's good moments though, mainly the scenes with the Gods of Ragnarok.

Glad to see so many votes for Talons - it's mine too. I was 7 not far off 8 when it was first on - young enough to be thrilled and excited by it (particularly Mr Sin and the giant rat) but old enough to appreciate it more than some of the earlier stories which were more a case of vivid images to me. Everyone's already explained on here why it's so great, so I don't need to! Favourite bit has to be the episode 2 cliffhanger and the subsequent stuff at the start of the 3rd - I have such a vivid memory of Leela crashing through the window!

Least favourite is a decade later - Paradise Towers. The first episode coincided with my first week at Polytechnic (a less stuffy form of University for the benefit of our younger readers!) and for the first time in my life I didn't care that I missed the odd episode of Who when out socialising and meeting new people. I would have been embarrassed frankly to admit that I was a fan at the time (apologies to those of you who like/love the story) - very painful viewing for me, I'm afraid.

Towers and Time and the Rani is painful enough for me, I really can't stand either, but I recall having to sit through both enough times with Amy when she was little, and she enjoyed every minute of both stories, and I enjoyed watching her enjoy every minute of them remembering how I enjoyed every minute of the Hartnell's, the Troughton's and the Pertwee's years before she was even thought of.

I would definitely agree That Time And The Rani, is probably the worst story in the entire classic series The Web Planet, might be painfully dull and slow but Time and the Rani is painfully embarrassing to watch. It's a story that highlighted every thing that was bad about a show that had become a standing joke and was not only stagnating by dying a long and painfull death.

Time and the Rani, for me represents the lowest point the old series reached and when I watch it you can't help thinking how right Michael Grade was to axe the series.

    Default Tops and Flops

    Tops

Hartnell - Dalek Inv of Earth
    Troughton - Invasion
    Pertwee - Sea Devils
Baker, T - City of Death
    Davison - Awakening
Baker, C - Revelation of the Daleks
McCoy - Remebrance of the Daleks

and the winner is - The Awakening, it looks stunning, it is beautifully written, directed, produced and performed, and Will Chandler is one of the finest one-off charaters in the series' history.

    Flops

    Hartnell - Sensorites
    Troughton - Dominators
    Pertwee - Mutants
    Baker, T - Meglos
    Davison - Time-Flight
    Baker, C - Timelash
McCoy - Time & The Rani

and the overall stinker has to be... Timelash, everything about it is a big pile of poo! Badly written, badly produced, the acting is woeful, and even the silver tongue of Paul Darrow cannot save it!

Obviously this list changes on a daily basis, but these are the scores from the Somerset jury tonight!

I don't rate Time Warrior that highly either. Invasion of Time is a great idea that was poorly executed, Time Meddler is a great story though.

Timelash, Time-flight and Invasion of Time are the ones I don't rate so highly. The others are all fine by me!

Favourite: Genesis of the Daleks (the story that first made me a fan, and even today I never tire of it)

Least Favourite: Mindwarp (pointless, nasty, manipulative Television. It was the 'death of Doctor Who' as far as I'm concerned)

In always find this such a difficult question to answer. I am a BIG big fan of Tom Baker's first three seasons and there are so many great stories there. The Ark in Space, Genesis, Revenge of the Cybermen, The Brain of Morbius, Pyramids of Mars and The Hand of Fear are real stand out episodes. But I think for me, I have to Pick The Deadly Assassin purely because its everything I feel Doctor Who should be. Gritty, dramatic, scarey and funny in rolled in to four excellent episodes.

As for the worst. Most 7th Doctor stories fall in to that category, but I think that Paradise Towers takes the biscuit.
I’m being extremely clever up here and there’s no one to stand around looking impressed! What’s the point in having you all?
