Anneke Wills biography
Anneke Wills (Polly) is apparently writing her biography, due out soon. There's a fascinating interview with her on her website:

I had no idea she warried to Michael Gough (unless I've forgotten). She's been quite a wild card in the past, truth be told. I like her!I must admit, just when I think I'm king, I just begin!

She's fab, isn't she? It's good that she has become more prominent in the last ten years or so, after being such a recluse for so long, and virtually absent from the whole 'Doctor Who' scene. She is just the loveliest person in real life, too.

She gets mentioned a lot in the recent Peter Cook biography "So Farewell Then" as she and Michael Gough were close friends of the Cooks.
Dennis, Francois, Melba and Smasher are competing to see who can wine and dine Lola Whitecastle and win the contract to write her memoirs. Can Dennis learn how to be charming? Can Francois concentrate on anything else when food is on the table? Will Smasher keep his temper under control?
If only the 28th century didn't keep popping up to get in Dennis's way...

She was at Memorabilia at the NEC last time, on a stall with her pictures. It wasn't that well attended when we went past. Shame really, she's not that bad...but I doubt I'd buy one.

I like her "up yer bum" letters she mentioned in DWM once. Seemingly when someone or something annoys her she rights and complains.
There was a fascinating but short interview with her on BBC East or whatever it was a few years ago where Sylvester McCoy met her in her cave like home on the moors and we saw her painting Doctor Who pictures to sell.
It's nice.

And we all know what happened to her little abode.
White kids firebombed it.

I'll have to look out for this. If it's half as good as Anneke's then it will be very entertaining. I met Deborah at the Dimensions convention and she came accross as very energetic and upbeat. Her panel with Anneke Wills was awesome.

Anneke has a new one coming out next year. Following on from where the first one finishes. Well that's what she told me when I pre-ordered it @Memorabilia.

With a very rude cover. Posting it here would contravene all the Planet Skaro rules!

Here's One I Wrote Earlier: the Peter Purves Autobiography
Yes, it's on its way in Feb:
Peter Purves is the actor, presenter and talented director who first shot to fame appearing with William Hartnell in 44 episodes of Doctor Who playing his companion Steven Taylor. His varied career is perhaps most well remembered for his 10 year stint as part of the Blue Peter Dream Team with Valerie Singleton and John Noakes. Most people have a specific memory of this golden age of british television amongst them the infamous 'Lulu the elephant' scene and Peter's early partnership with Petra who was immortalized in the Blue Peter garden. Following his departure from Blue Peter he famously presented another kids favourite Kickstart and Junior Kickstart which became cult summer holiday TV. Peter is also well known for his association with Crufts . He first began presenting coverage for the BBC in 1976 and has been closely associated with it for over thirty years. Peter Purves - My Autobiography is a look back at Peter's career and fascinating life and is a celebration of one of Britain's best loved presenters.
