Beanz meanz Heinz..........
......or does it?
Back in the 60s the slogan was "A million housewives everyday, pick up a tin of beans and say, Beanz meanz Heinz" and many a schoolboy came home to beans on toast for tea.
Today with the advent of own brand labels, ASDA, Morrison's, Tesco, Heinz have loads of competiton to contend with, and their place in the market has greatly diminished.
So, I was thinking, what is our favourite baked bean these days. I used to like Heinz, but these days I find some of the beans a little hard and undercooked, Crosse and Blackwell used to have a nice sauce with theirs, and now go under the "Branston" label.
Morrison's have a nice baked bean, nicely cooked and with a nice smooth, tomatoey sauce, and this is the one I favour, but we all have different tastes, what's yours?

No lemon juice or sugar then?
Back on topic, if I was buying beans, I'd only eat Heinz. Cause I'm a snob.

Most brands have chemical sweetners like aspartame as well as sugar, and as for actual fruit juices in them - read the labels!!!!

Any Doctor Who website with a picture of a pan of beans on the main page is worth being part of, I'd say.

I had to laugh when I saw that main page. One of my more successful threads I think, perhaps I should try a baked bean omelette.
