The CRUMBLE Thread!
so, who here likes a good crumble?
what variety of crumble is your favourite?
I personally enjoy a good apple and blackberry crumble from time to time. Rhubarb is nice, but not as nice, IMO.

I like all forms of crumble, it is perhaps the finest of all pudding forms.

Not too tangy, not too sweet, it'll make your saliva glands weep.

Just, just, just take a bit of my crumble!
Crumble is the king of puddings if you ask me! I love Crumble! I make my own at home and I favour the rhubarb falvour myself, though I'm very, very fond of the Apple and Blackberry variety (that was the last one I made) and gooseberry, but you just don't get gooseberries that often in the shops these days, sadly.
What do people do with the crumble topping? Do you add oats like me? Sultanas too?

Apple crumble for me, please. I like proper custard as well, which means custard made with eggs (anything wlse is a cheap imposter). Morrison's do a nice "Creme Anglaise" which I had with some crumble the other day. I love it when the custard covers a bit of the crumble topping and make sit extra delicious. The thought of it is making me drip saliva on the keyboard (almost).
I must admit, just when I think I'm king, I just begin!

My friend Des's wife Pat made us a lovely plum crumble on Thursday with plums from their own garden.

I had an aunt who used to make the most glorious custard, everytime she visited us she would make a beautiful sherry trifle with her own home made custard. Sadly, since she died I've not tasted anything like it, although my mother's does come fairly close to it.
That Morrison's Creme Anglaise is lovely isn't it, we have some here ready for Christmas Lunch.

Mmmmmmmm...it's gorgous isn't it. I can quite happily rapidly spoon feed myself that custard from the bowl just on it's own. Lap it up!

generaly I prefer Apple crumble, I don't mind rhubarb as long as it's not to tangy but what ever I have it must be served with a very generous helping of custard..

I like crumble, whether it's apple, rhubarb or any other fruit. Just add lots of hot custard and I'll be happy.

Crumbles are divine. Seriously divine. Try adding crumbled flapjack into the mixture too for some serious chewiness. yummy.
My favourite crumble is blueberry, although all are nice.
Savoury crumbles can be a treat too. Leek, bacon and smoked cheese is really nice. Vegetarians can substitute the bacon for peppers and red onions.
