I believe that was the intention Si.

Does it have any new footage? I mean, I've heard there may be some new CGI, but if it just boils down to 'an edited version of the original with a few new FX bits' then... Well what's the point of it exactly? It would have been a bit like including the edited Brain of Morbius repeat on the DVD of the full story!

It's also cropped into widescreen according to post on GB.

It's an attempt to show how an old series story might work in the new series format. I'm very much looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Hmm, I'm not sure chopping some bits out will make it a la the New Series, it's a completely different beast in visual & presentation terms (IMHO). I just hope it doesn't become a victim of its own hype.

I suppose something like this was inevitable. Haven't "Thunderbirds" (on Blu-Ray) and UFO (on some American channel) been wide screened and tinkered with?

Are they going to re-do the music? Nice as it is the original score won't make it very modern!

I'm assuming the picture will be very slightly blurred if it's been zoomed in..?

What, are they going to drown everything out with Murray Gold's music?

Will they get Janet Fielding to overdub some new Tegan lines? Something like: "I really love travellin' wiv yoo. And chips. Your so gaaaaay."

For the record, Baron wasn't ignored, she turned down the offer to partake in the release's extras!

I think it looks like a marvellous little set, Enlightenment is one of my all time faves.

The Restoration Team website has a full lust of the extras for this release now.

I look forward to seeing Russell Harty.

Also, is it mean of me to think: Sarah Sutton looks back over her acting career, and it only takes 7 minutes. Even Mark Strickson's needs 8 minutes to go through!

BTW, has my PC been hacked or is there a reason why the hand-scrawled message "WHO IS VIRGILIO ANDERSON?" appears on the RT front page?!

I've got that too. Perhaps it's the new "Bad Wolf".

I don't know who he is... but I have found his website!! It's here!

(I don't think he's as sexy as his sister Gillian!)

Yeah, it's not a Davison commentary without Miss Fielding!

Still Mawdryn Undead has an isolated score. Only Frontios to go and that's isolated scores for all the Paddy Kingsland stories!!

Sounds like a great set all in all

    Steve Roberts:

I didn't have anything to do with putting these extras together, the entire three-story package was the responsibility of Brendan Sheppard.
Apparently, Kevin Davies has "cans and cans of stuff, in fact, everything shot on film for Mawdryn" which he offered but most of this won't be on the set:

Oh well, I'm sure Brendan's "special edition" of that snore-fest Enlightenment makes up for the absence of tons of real outtake footage.
I imagine he was being sarcastic.

The three individual covers are up on Dr Who Online. They're as you'd expect. The Terminus cover makes Nyssa look like she has enormous norks.

I see what you mean, Matt!! And Pip's right - not just about the covers, either!

Do I detect some antipathy towards Brendan Sheppard in the Restoration Team? Heaven forfend!

I think all three are really good covers! Although for some reason the skull eyes on "Terminus" do make it look like Nyssa is posing with a pair of enormous sunglasses on her boobs.

We had guessed that they'd used the Black Guardians Crystal as a linking motif at the centre of each cover, but they seem to have decided not to link the covers this time.

It disturbs me the in-fighting that goes on within the RT - SR has done so, so much for the DVD range but deep down he's just one of us - a frustrated fan. The sad thing is, these little rows usually end up with us missing out on some treasure or other for a DVD.

Hooray for Tegan being centre stage on the Enlightenment cover I say!

My first thought about Terminus was exactly the same as everyone else it seems!
