Default PS Audio 3.1: A Baron For All Seasons - CD NOW AVAILABLE!

    We're back!

Ahead of unveiling our new season next month, next week will see the release of a brand new "preview" story! Presenting...

    A Baron For All Seasons

A single episode, Doctor-less adventure, "A Baron For All Seasons" is written by Martin Penny and sees the return of two memorable characters from last years "The Paradise Machine" story, namely the slimy Head of the Galactic Bank, Tor Garane, and the noble (and very loud) Baron of Boralis... not to mention some new characters too.

Set just after "The Paradise Machine", this story sets up the tense political situation in the Galaxy of the future that will lead into the first story in our new season. The Galaxy is at war, with the conflict between Boralis and the mighty Skraith Empire reaching its zenith. There is only one hope - the 103rd Annual Galactic Economic Conference, in which the Powers meet on a gigantic space station to broker a peace. But things are never that simple, and higher powers have other ideas...

Very much our own "Mission to the Unknown", this preview episode is available free on-line from Wednesday, and stars Pip Madeley as the Baron of Boralis, Martin Penny as Tor Garane, P-Bal as The President of Earth, Chester O'Neill (aka PS poster and Fantom Films event organiser jedikiah) as the Duke of Drakon with Si Hunt as Rallik and Simon Hart as the Computer.

A CD release (the splendid cover to which can be seen above) will be available at a later date, featuring the complete story, plus deleted scenes, out-takes and a brand new and exclusive bonus adventure.

Full details of the other adventures in our new season to be unleashed shortly! Meanwhile, be sure to check PS next Wednesday and download "A Baron For All Seasons"!

That cover is amazing! Good stuff Pip. Is that what Tor Garane looks like then?

That's just Martin Penny! You could have done some photoshopping on him, Pip.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Yes, Martin gave me a description and I sourced an appropriate illustration (I've tweaked it quite a lot of course). Originally we planned to have Martin's eyes there but that idea was dropped with good reason.

Yeah, Martin's eyes are too scary for a cover.

    Most excellent cover.
Who's the artist? Is it your own work Pip, or have you manipulated someone else's artwork? Just curious.
Look forward to hearing the audio anyway!

For every fail, there is an equal and opposite win.

Don't let Nick Briggs get Pip's phone number! Or see these covers! We'll never get him back again!

As I said I sourced them - for the more "fantastical" elements (ie. alien creatures) I tend to source illustrations and then tweak them for the covers. It's just a case of time constraints, I could attempt to illustrate Garane myself then scan into Photoshop and digitally manipulate the image but I doubt the effect would be as impressive as the above. I do try to make the covers as original as possible if I can (see Heist! for a prime example).

And I like to mix up the covers anyway, in fact two of this seasons covers feature none of the PS membership whatsoever (I can hear Paul Monk cheering ).

I agree with the thread so far, that's an excellent cover and quite different from anything we've had before. Very striking - and at least reading this thread explains the eyes staring into me from the front page this evening.

Anyone would think that I get fed up of seeing my mug on every cd release.

Excellent, in that case the next story's cover will just be a massive close up of your face.

There's some internal debate about what he looks like. Apparently Martin envisages him as more conventionally human looking, where-as to me he is...
