Default Songs About Birds - A Collection

Recently I've been enjoying 'Band On The Run', Paul McCartney's quite-good album from the 70's. It occurred to me that McCartney has written a fair few songs about birds. There's Blackbird, Bluebird and Jenny Wren. Almost one a decade!

So in a similar vein, if there was to be an ultimate compilation on songs about birds what would it include? What songs with birds, or types of birds, or about birds are there?

NB - Simply saying 'Anything by Sheryl Crow' doesn't count!

Can we chose all the songs by Wings or The Eagles then?

Oh OK. An obvious choice from my point of view is ABBA's Eagle. Great song, very atmospheric.

There's an almost forgotten hit from 1980 by French group Sweet People called And The Birds Were Singing. It's a sickly instrumental with birds twittering all through it, and spent ten weeks on the UK charts reaching #4.
Can we also mention the theme from Magpie by the Murgatroyd Band? They were actually The Spencer Davis Group with a few members of Traffic thrown in for good measure.

    There's Glodfrapp's Little Bird too.

We mustn't forget Pearl Carr and Teddy Johnson's early Eurovision entry Sing Little Birdie. It's a classic.

I was rather hoping it would take flight, Stephen!

Although none of the song title are about birds, they feature heavily in Kate Bush's Aerial album. There's that wonderful moment where she's singing along to a birdsong, then laughing like a loon!

    Surfin' Bird?

Because the bird is the word.

There were quite a few versions of this around as I recall. I have an old KTel cassette somewhere with it as done by The Qwakas.

I'd forgotten 1979's one hit wonder The Sparrow by schoolchild group The Ramblers.
