Default What Who are You Currently Watching This Time?

Yep, the old thread has hit the big 1,000, so here's a new one.

And to start off, I just started my day with Four to Doomsday.

And I liked it. I mean, nothing actually happens in the first 3 episodes, but it still manages to keep you glued to it. Well, keep me glued to it at least.

I just watched Boom Town. Or is it Boomtown? Anyway, I enjoyed it - especially the teleport scene.

It's Boom Town. With a space.

Don't make me get all Time-Flight on you again, Curnow.

Of course I could be doing it just to be irritating (see also, "Hey, about those starfields Mr Clancy..."). I might watch "Earth Shock" later on, or "Snake Dance"...

Kayleigh and I watched Doctor Who In An Exciting Adventure Somewhere In Scotland Where He Underestimates The Power Of Organic Crystallography.

Kayleigh declined to comment (I think she liked it though).

I watched Doctor Who does America, Guest Starring Bruce the Ambulance Guy.

Since its canonicity was totally un-disprovably assured last christmas, it's become even more enjoyable to watch.

So you can criticise my cavalier attitude to Time-Flight, and yet feel free to use the word (if it even is a word) "un-disprovably"? Tt, kids!

I watched Doctor Who and the Ghost of Kylie with my convert this evening. He pronounced it very entertaining and is looking forward to the Catherine Tate Show!

    "Trap of Steel"

Delightfully, one of the Chumblies is played by someone called Pepe Poupee.

One question though - why on Earth is the previous episode called "Four Hundred Dawns"?

Isn't that how far Maaga says they are from her home planet?

From memory, isn't it something pretty tenuous, like the Drahvins believe the planet has 400 dawns left before it dies? Thus the cliffhanger where the Doctor says it only has just the one day left is more dramatic. I guess.

Logo may be right - the soundtrack is so muffly it's hard to tell. It's definately not Magga's original belief of the lifetime of the planet - that's FOUR dawns, and the Doctor corrects her and says it's two.

Listening to the story, it feels more like forty dawns have past since we started.

On a related note, I believe Sting of the Zygons was dedicated to "Justin Richards and his 400 Drahvins called Dawn".

Maybe that might clear things up.

Oh, and today I watched Voyage of the Damned and Smith & Jones.

Last night I watched Sylvester McCoy In An Exciting American Adventure Where He Makes A Brew, Gets Shot, Gets Killed By A Fit Bird With Great Baps, Stays Dead For Ages, Turns Into Paul McGann, Pretends To Be Jesus, Snogs The Fit Bird With Great Baps Who Killed Him, Rides A Bike, Steals A Tiny Thing Which Will Probably Save The Day, Rides A Bike (Again), Gets Hit On The Head, Strapped Up, Slapped, Forced To Stare Into The Eye Of Harmony, Nearly Gets His Childhood, Adulthood And Everything Else Raped, Gets A Kicking From Eric Roberts, Brings Dead People Back To Life (When He Shouldn't) And Makes A Brew (Again).

Not much happened to be honest.

You're not alone Tim - I just can't warm to that episode at all somehow. I'm not even quite sure why.
