Try taking down a telephone (for example an upstairs phone) and having microphone placed near the downstairs phone - always worked for me and Mr Cox in our old audio days!!!
Mind you, that was more for a CB style radio than a wireless style radio

That's an outrageous thing to say Martin.

Hooray! It's a great site and I love the Clear Waters logo!
Well done Pip!

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

I've just had a quick peek before coming on the forum, and it IS lovely. It's all getting very exciting isn't it - I can't wait to hear the finished play!

Great site. One dodgy photo of me though!
Loved the character descriptions. It all sounds rather exciting.

I had a session with the microphone punching a baking tin this morning. And I'm delighted to tentitively add Dave Taylor and Ant Cox to the cast list!

I didn't see his reply Si! Maybe he just sent it to you? See if more people posted to this thread I'd know!
I'm currently dabbling with TARDIS materilisations. It's the best part of all this!

I'll keep digging around for TARDIS-y effects.
-

Do please! A lot of the ones with background sounds are not usable. Ideally I need TARDIS blips and beeps most of all, with no other sounds getting in the way.

I might have some too... I'll let you know.

There are certain scenes that are going to be filled with lovely wheezing and groaning... and that's just Paul Monk.

Cheeky scamp! I'm currently looking around at work for an old bit of equip with lots of switches on. I could use it in the Tardis scenes to get some authentic switch acting

There's a scene in the script (actually already been recorded) which has an F word in it. Do you think I should bleep it out? Will anyone listen to the play with youngsters and switch it off in disgust if there is swearing in it?

Dunno how much sarcasm was intended there, but I guess Claudia Curnow might listen to it?

None whatsoever actually Pip. There is genuinely a line I wrote with an F word in that I'm wondering about. I suppose I could cut it.
Quite ironic I should be having this dilemma eh?

Unless it is just Torchwood-y gratuitous 'swearing because I can' Si (which I'm sure it's not) then keep it in I say. If children are allowed to listen to it, and end up getting corrupted, well then I blame the parents!!

I think actually I will edit it out, as it's not needed for the plot and I want everyone to be able to listen to it easily. It's going! The play will be family friendly!

Is this the Chaffeur part? Was recording that with Alex last night.
-
15th Jan 2007, 1:52 PM #123
No! Has that got swearing in it too? It doesn't matter, I can always edit! A lot of stuff will be chopped off anyway.
Looking forward to hearing Alex's turn as the Chaffeur and Manager!

Alex is round tonight to record the rest of his scenes so we can always re-record the Chaffeur with some less colourful language. I'm not happy with the recording anyway.
-

I'm confused! The Cheauffeur only has two lines, and none of them has colourful language in! Has Alex written his own x-rated version of the role?
