There's obviously a massive charity shop in the TARDIS; inbetween televised adventures, he picks up stock, gets the companion(s) to sort it, keeps the choicest cuts for himself, and sells off the best of the rest. The Daleks hate him purely because the gorgeous party dress they were going to buy Davros had been sold by the time they'd got back from the cash dispenser. Didn't you know?

Apparently the shirt is available from your local Next. DT's suit was a Next one... I think we know where they go shopping in Cardiff now!

I hate the costume. (And I'm no fan of the Doctor's new appearance! He's fugly!) The TARDIS is cool, though.

I didn't realise until today, but they've got a two-page spread in this week's Radio Times about the new Doc's costume - including a somewhat spoilerific pic of the filming, I discovered to my horror!!!

Is this the furthest in advance of actual transmission the Radio Times has ever covered a programme?!

Due to an accident with a time machine and a bottle of printer's ink, the final medals table for the 2024 Olympics appears in a copy of a 1943 copy of RT, conveniently replacing that week's listing for ITMA.

    I love it...the Doctor's new look - very Hartnell/Troughton/Pertwee - and the Tardis.
I've got a very good feeling for Series 5.

It turns out this wasn't the original costume!

Apparently he was going to be dressed in a more Piratey way with a big coat, like Jack Spaarow, but Matt wasn't happy with the look. It was almost last minute that the actual costume was put together, almost entirely at Matt Smith's suggestion, according to Steven Moffat in DWM...

The piratey costume could have been a disaster. I say could because it may have been brilliant.

I think I'd have preferred a big coat. Gahhhh! Bloody actors.

And me - glad to hear that Matt Smith vetoed the big coat, it would've been too similar to Tennant IMO.

What will probably become forever known as 'The Tomb anecdote' made me quite emotional. And in a weird kind of way, sort of vindicated. A young guy who has no particular reason to be even that bothered about something 40+ years old, turns out to love something that we love too.

Talking of pirates, did you know that Long John Silver only got the job in Treasure Island because he'd failed the Santa audition?

    "Yo ho ho!"

    All right, I'm going!
