Scheduled Maintenance on 2nd August 2009 was completed successfully

I am in the process of decommissioning the old server that is running planetskaro.org.uk and moving to a new dedicated server. I have already migrated my website and email to the new machine and as agreed by the Admins, PS will be joining them as well.

The move will start on Sunday August 2nd at 12 midday (BST) when the site will be put into maintenance mode, the files and data copied across and made available on http://new.planetskaro.org.uk. This new address is temporary and exists to allow PS to continue as normal whilst the DNS changes take 48 hours or so to propagate around the internet.

Please allow one hour for the migration and testing to take place; I expect http://new.planetskaro.org.uk to be functional by 1pm on the 2nd.

On the new server, both http://new.planetskaro.org.uk and http://www.planetskaro.org.uk will point to the same set of files and data. Once the DNS changes have completed, http://new.planetskaro.org.uk will automatically redirect to http://www.planetskaro.org.uk.

Scheduled Maintenance on 5th August 2009 was completed successfully

http://new.planetskaro.org.uk will redirect users back to http://www.planetskaro.org.uk. This will be to complete the migration of Planet Skaro to the new server. The redirection will take effect at 8pm (BST).

Scheduled Maintenance for Thursday 19th November from 10pm was completed successfully

Bytemark (our hosting providers) will be performing some maintenance on their core network on Thursday 19th November from 10pm GMT onwards. This will involve a potential reconvergence of their spanning tree which may involve a 30 second outage or two.

Scheduled Maintenance at 10am Saturday 28th August was rescheduled

The webserver hosting Planet Skaro will be rebooted at 10am (BST) Saturday 28th August to resolve high CPU load and the inability of the server to successfully backup.

The outage is expected to complete by 11am (BST)

In light of the continuing issues the server was rebooted that night.

The hosting provider is physically moving servers on the evening of the 14th of October 2022 starting at 10pm
Their aim is to have everything back up and running by 7am the following day
