I prefer carpets, you don't get splinters from Axminster.

How often do you stub your toe, and what swear word accompanies it?

    Constantly. Usually I say something along the lines of, "F'ing s'ing f'ety f' f' F!" Stubbed toe + ingrown toenail = pain!

I wanted to be a writer. Not a journalist like my career advisors kept teeling me I wanted to be. I wanted to write books. I still haven't done, but I've written lots of other stuff... just not made any money out of it!

What would be your ideal job?

Being a househusband - spending all day pottering around the house and the shops, cooking up pickles and relishes and home made soup, and time for lots of reading, writing etc.

If it must be paid work, then running a very dingy secondhand bookshop.

Why didn't I get all my work done over the summer and now have to rush it for tomorrow's first INSET day ?

A horribly tough steak at the Old Ship, Padstow.

The chips weren't up to much, either.

(Granted half the staff were RNLI volunteers, and there was a call to arms just after we'd ordered, but even so...)

I was half-tempted to spend £25 on Terminus, just to plug up a hole in the collection. Then I heard I could plug up two, and get Enlightenment with better sound quality, and extras, when the DVDs came out at much the same price. Hoorah!

It was a few months ago, oddly enough when P-Bal was visiting. It might have been the day before Eurovision! My tooth really ached like nothing before! And then it just went, on its own and nothing since.

I half suspect that when I had a filling earlier this year, it's made of some substance that gets irritated or aches when it's a certain humidity. Is that likely? You know how metal expands at certain times of year? Cos it was right where the filling was.

What was the last thing you got addicted to?

"Come Dine With Me" as well you know Merlin.

Are you moist like tinned ham for the second series of "Merlin"?

The Five Faces of Doctor Who. It was, to quote Ace, just that whole time, you know.

Which of the stories from The Five Faces of Doctor Who is your favourite... And WHY?

It has to be Logopolis- for reasons I'll be explaining again in my 30 years thread...

Actually, I think Shada - some of it's great, Tom & Denis Carey in particular, but Lalla seems to have forgotten how to act for these episodes, and some of Chris Parsons' dialogue is just awful. Plus the Krargs seem to be the least plausible monster of the season (I rather like the Mandrells, so don't try and convince me otherwise!). Frankly, I don't think I'd want to be without any of the other five stories.

Which well-known unmade story do you wish they'd made... and which made story would you give up in its stead?

I was just thinking earlier what a loss "Shada" was. It gets bad press these days, but I absolutely love it. I would certainly have said "Destiny" above "Shada"!

But to answer Andrew's question, can I have "Return of the Autons" please? Yes, I know it'd have been crass and forced, but oh! To have the Autons back with the Master and the Rani! Worth suffering Singapore location footage for!

Do you think they'll ever do a New Series multi-Doctor reunion story? (apart from "Time Crash", I mean one where they try and get them all back)

    Si.
