Unlikely since he died in 1941.

Perhaps James Harper will be in it?

Although I think Si may be misinterpreting Raston's comment anyway.

Funny, I was wondering myself whether John Barrowman will be back - the end of series 1 almost has the feel of having been written, filmed, done & dusted before they were sure of a recommission. By which I mean it has neatly tidied everything up, so that Jack can appear in Doctor Who (although I'm still curious as to how that's going to work - will he suddenly be there, or will we see the end of Torchwood part 13, from the Doctor's POV?) but hasn't left much in the way of 'unresolved business' for itself.

I do hope that Cap'n Jack is back, as to be honest at the moment there's no other contender for 'leading man' is there. They could bring somebody new in, I suppose, but that would be a shame.

I think, or hope anyway, that being given the green light for a second series, and the prestige of going from a BBC3 debut, to BBC2, will give them the confidence to push the series a bit, to really focus on what they can do with Torchwood as a standalone show, rather than still using Who as a crutch to lean on from time to time.

Speculation about series 2? Some kind of spoiler warning?

You can't look at a series 2 speculation thread without expecting mention of what happened at the end of series 1, Si. Common sense, surely? I've added a spoiler warning now, anyway.

I didn't see why i would need a spoiler for something that has already been Broadcast 3 times! I didn't see spoiler warnings on the 'Runaway Bride' thread after 8pm on the 25th of December!

And as Pip said, it would be unusual to expect a discussion of season 2 without some reference to the events of the end of season 1! Even Ants first post was almost spoilerish with its implication that Jack may not be in the 2nd season...

Didn't he move to Cardiff and marry his partner? what other reason would you want to move to Cardiff for, unless you had to work there?

Is 'Bilis Manger' an anagram, or is it Latin or something?

It's not an anagram, as far as I can tell (according to a handy anagram generator I found!)

    and it's certainly not latin!

    Classical Greek maybe?

'Bilis' I'm fairly sure was some sort of dried fish. 'Manger' is not greek though.

Lets say that this theory does not work

of course a lot could also depend on weather or not series 4 of Doctor Who, gets the green light and weather or not Jack is going to stay on and appear in the first few episodes of it.

Well I very much hope he is, Torchwood are a bunch of buffoons most of the time, without Jack theyd all be shouting at each other and opening the rift every five minutes!

Somone on another Forum suggested that maybe Owen could take over if Jack had gone?

well, it was established in the last two episodes that Owen was Jack's second in command, so in the event of Jack disappearing, provided a replacement wasn't found, Owen would be in charge.

I thought it was established in the first episode that Gwen took over as second in command from Susie? Because she doesnt really seem to have a role in the group unlike everyone else.

It would be weird to put a newbie in as second in command straight away, surely?

I thought she had replaced Susie as second in command for some reason, my mistake, just been creating my own facts I think!

Anyhoo, some speculation, maybe it wasn't the Doctor who took Jack at the end?

RTD has confirmed in DWM that it is the Doctor he goes off with and that is the moment they are reunited in season 3.
