Myths And Weakling Scum Box Set: Out Now!
Doctor Who: Myths & Legends (DVD)
Apparently it will contain The Time Monster, Underworld and The Horns of Nimon, though nothing has been officially announced. Due for release on 1st February 2010 - but given that Masque of Mandragora is scheduled for release on 8th February I assume this is subject to change.

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

What's Underworld doing in that... oh, I can't bring myself to say it.

An odd choice of stories to be included in a boxset. These sets are usually themed, but at first glance all that these stories seem to have in common is the Doctor himself. And the TARDIS.
Strange.
Still, it'll be good to get a decent copy of The Time Monster at long last.

They're all based on Greek legends. Atlantis, Jason and the Argonauts, and the Minotaur.

What, you mean the Minotaur that only appeared in ONE EPISODE? That Minotaur?

What about the Nimon? Those bull-headed man-creatures who run around an unpredictable maze?
I predict that these three stories will come out together in a boxset in 2010. You know I'm right.Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Yes, as Rob says, I meant the Nimon. There's also the way that the names Skonnos and Aneth are thought to have been inspired by Knossos and Athens from the same mythology. Dave Prowse's Minotaur helps add to the connections.

What an awful boxed set!
I don't mind "The Time Monster" but the other two stink of rotting scotch eggs and I can barely remember anything about them!

Well, the first episode-and-a-half of Horns weren't too bad, IMHO. Up until they actually got to Skonnos, it was an okay story.

Nimon's alright in my book... Time Monster has its moments (I switch off when they head for Atlantis)... and Underworld suffers from having a completely forgettable adversary...
I'll be getting this on the cheap in the latter half of 2010.

In many ways it's canny and appropriate. And at least we get these stories out the way without having to do it in three purchases. But I have a niggling feeling of pity for anyone less-clued out there who chooses it at random and takes it home expecting anything less than slow torture.
Si.

I really like Horns of Nimon, and as Pip says, Time Monster isn't too bad up until the point where they go to Atlantis. Underworld's opening episode is pretty good, but the rest of it is pretty dull. So, they're probably seven episodes in the set that I like, all told.

Surely Battlefield belongs on a Myths and Legends boxset - I mean the Doctor kind of turns out to be Merlin or something.
Actually I could never really bring myself around to rewatching it - don't remember it being that bad, but don't remember it being that good either.Remember, just because Davros is dead doesn't mean the Dalek menace has been contained ......

Battlefield has already been released, while the other three haven't, and the other three are more specifically linked by Greek mythology.
