Oooh - interesting.
Holmes was definitely a problem solver. Having read about Asbergers, they generally do seem to have a high degree of problem solving, ability to recall detail etc.
Problem is whilst Holmes to me does seem to have emotional issues and difficulties. He kind of (if I remember) understands them in others, and how they drive people. This ability to recognise that other people have different emotional drives to you doesn't tend to be present in austistic people. So I'd probably say "no".
Anyone remember Young Sherlock Holmes? I kind of hate now how they try and reverse engineer the adult traits "he's like this because ...".Remember, just because Davros is dead doesn't mean the Dalek menace has been contained ......

Interesting post, Mike. I would say no too for those very reasons. Bu he does have a lot of the characteristics.
