According to gossip from Outpost Gallifrey it's delayed until this week to bring it in line with a (Christmas??) special. Something like that anyway. (so I've read on another forum somewhere)

Random guess - they'll replace the Cyberman on the cover with the redesigned Cyberman that they're unveiling at Christmas.

    I bet I'm wrong!

Yup, The Moonbase and The Tomb of the Cybermen version.

The only two stories of the 60s to share the same Cyberdesign, fact fans!

    Mark I- The Tenth Planet
Mark II- The Moonbase and The Tomb of the Cybermen
Mark III- The Wheel in Space
Mark IV- The Invasion (my personal favourite)
Mark V- Revenge of the Cybermen
Mark VI- Earthshock, The Five Doctors and Attack of the Cybermen
    Mark VII- Silver Nemesis

    Oooh, coconut macaroons!

Mine came today. I can think of one PS member who'll be particularly excited about an item advertised for next issue - Tom Baker & June Hudson together again!!

The comic strip is so far down in the doldrums that you need a f***ing telescope to read it - even then you still have to wash your eye afterwards. And all those letters praising it! [/standard rant about DWM comic strip]

There was even a letter saying how good the article on Time Travel was! I'm sorry, I found that article utterly unreadable. [/uber-grump]

Hudson and Baker will be a treat I'm sure.

I'm quite enjoying the strip. And not just for Amy's new outfit either!

Oh I'd be the first to admit that the likenesses aren't all that (although I think the Doctor's looking a lot more like Matt now than a few issues ago) but hasn't that always been the case? Dare I say, despite the brilliance of his artwork, John Ridgeway very rarely gave us a sixth Doctor that actually looked anything like Colin Baker.

And it turns out it's John Ainsworth in the costume.

I found the wrangling of trying to work the Cybus Cybermen into the evolution line of the Mondasian/Telosian Cybermen very tiresome. The whole idea is that they are NOT the Cybermen of the Doctor's universe. Quite ridiculous. Even the conversion processes are different. In an odd way, the 'emergency' conversion process seen in Cyberwoman (whole body conversion) is the more standard process for the main universe Cybermen. However, taking Cyberwoman as a cue, the skull in the Cyberhelmet in The Pandorica Opens is hardly surprising at all, and certainly not an indication of a relationship between the two universes' Cybermen.

I was also disappointed that David Banks chronology was pretty much glossed over, when its greater inclusion would have enhanced the article no end. Having listened to The Archive Tapes really, it's some of the best fan theorising I've ever read.

Getting off topic, I would love to see the original Cybermen return now, especially with the parallel Cybermen now established in the main universe. Cyberwar!

    Oooh, coconut macaroons!

The Cyberface seen in Dalek does seem to have been forgotten by the production team... "Let's get our money's-worth out of the costumes we've got!" Ah, the good old standard BBC battlecry!

Are you sure it's John Ainsworth in a costume...?

Unless Tom Spilsbury is lying in his editorial, yes. But making such an accusation is no way to treat a fine editor with whom I would just happen to love a date.

I used to quite like these but find I really don't have the time or inclination to read them anymore. They're a bit too detailed.

At 1.45pm on Monday 11th October, Paul Monk posted to the Planet Skaro Internet forum that he used to quite like the special DWM editions, but now found that he had neither "the time or inclination to read them anymore. They're a bit too detailed. "

Ben Cook was not thought to be present at the time.

I've found a similar problem, although I rather like the script revisions that tend to be included.

However, it would be great if there was a bit more media commentary or production documentation, or even collected reviews, a la the Complete Doctor specials.
