If he's really dead, they'll have to cancel the Christmas Special and all next year's episodes. God, I hope he's okay.

Nah, it'll be like Blakes 7 after they got rid of Blake.

    "Where's Amy?"
    "Amy's gone with the Doctor!"

I bought the Special today in WHS Oxford Street and the chap serving me was pleased to tell me he'd been to Doctor Who Live on Saturday! I said I'd been too so we compared notes on it - he basically loved it and said he couldn't wait for the show to return. I said we only had to wait until Christmas and then he was talking about the next series being split in two!

A bit surreal but made a nice change from the usual sullen staff!

I don't know why they should be sullen in WHSmith Oxford Street - The Lads only have orders to beat up the staff in HMV and Waterstones...

Your Star Prize will warm the cockles of your heart!

And it was a well-deserved star letter too. Some of the best writing there's been in DWM for years etc...

Great news: DWM is expanding to 84 pages a month from January, so hopefully their future is safe for the moment. Also there are talks already of how the 50th Anniversary is going to be celebrated which DWM are involved in.

The news of the expansion surprised me - that means we need to read 21 pages each week or 3 pages every day! It is a good sign of course and will be interesting to see what they fill it with...

Congrats to our two letter writers - though when I saw the photo of Nick Briggs as Churchill next to Si's I assumed his letter was about Doctor Who Live - until I realised that publishing deadlines would have made that most unlikely if not impossible!

Like Si, I take the news of an increase in page count as a positive sign for DWM's future.... but at the same time, if they're already struggling to fill66 pages, how will they manage another 18?

    More set reports!

I stood in WH Smiths for several minutes today, reading the latest issue and grinning.

Not only do Si and Andrew see their names in print, but check out the top right of the photo from Invasion of Time on page 58 - it's Pip!

He must have his own TARDIS and popped back to 1978 to get himself snapped there!

Stefan is going to be very confused. From his perspective, he's already collected a DWM from my letter box (the Special two weeks ago). He's just going to roll his eyes at two in one month...

    !

usualy takes me a good 2 or 3 weeks to read my DWM, as I only read a few pages at a time an extra 21 pages means i'll just have to read faster - interesting thing though I don't recall any mention of an inrease in price.

I think it's safe to say it'll be at least £4.99 - that's how much both 84 page issues cost end of last year/start of this.

The spoof layout almost works, but the spoofy tone of it all soon becomes rather wearing. Still it's not nearly as bad as that time they tried to convicne us Doctor Who was all a big gameshow.

And of course they missed the best Soap-y Doctor Who story of them all. This one:
