    Default dvd-r or dvd+r?

Please can anybody explain the difference? I don't understand which discs I need, to copy some footage onto dvd so it can be played in a dvd player.

DVD+R is a newer version of the DVD-R format so you'd be best getting DVD-R discs to have the best chance of them being compatible with any machines you use them in.
Dennis, Francois, Melba and Smasher are competing to see who can wine and dine Lola Whitecastle and win the contract to write her memoirs. Can Dennis learn how to be charming? Can Francois concentrate on anything else when food is on the table? Will Smasher keep his temper under control?

If only the 28th century didn't keep popping up to get in Dennis's way...

My DVD recorder will only accept the + format and no faster than 4xspeed. Which only gives me one option of buying DVD+RW as I have never found DVD+R 4xspeed.
I’m being extremely clever up here and there’s no one to stand around looking impressed! What’s the point in having you all?

I'm still confused! How can I know which discs my drive will accept?

I only found out when I bought a spindle of DVD+R which I think were x16 speed and they wouldn't work. The user manual pointed out what discs I should use, have you looked there or looked on the manufacturer's website? They may be of some help.

Check the front of the drive should say DVD-R or DVD+r or DVD±R. The later one means it takes both formats.
