Never had them before, but feel duty bound to point out I've been getting Database Error several times over the last day or two - including losing a post I'd submitted a few minutes ago.

It's worth saving lengthy posts before submitting them, folks!

I'm afraid it's beyond my control Wayne, but our hosts are aware:

We are aware of an issue with regards to connections made to our MySQL servers. Errors include 'Unknown Host' and are intermittent when browsing sites. In order to resolve this we would recommend looking to change the hostname you use to connect to your MySQL server. The hostname currently used will be mysqlX.streamline.net - where X is the MySQL server number to the server IP address.

mysql3.streamline.net - 217.174.254.71
mysql4.streamline.net - 217.174.254.60
mysql5.streamline.net - 217.174.254.58

mysql7.streamline.net - 88.208.193.88
mysql8.streamline.net - 88.208.192.8
mysql9.streamline.net - 88.208.193.103
mysql10.streamline.net - 88.208.220.188
mysql11.streamline.net - 88.208.234.52
mysql12.streamline.net - 88.208.216.18

For example if you are using MySQL10, the hostname you would use to connect is mysql10.streamline.net. Replacing this with 88.208.220.188 should resolve the intermittent access you may be experiencing.

Our engineers are currently looking to resolve this issue, and once this has been resolved we will update this service status page. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

I have changed the hostname to the IP address though, so hopefully you should see improvement today.

It's still a bit slow, but no Database Errors so far.
Anyway, Grandad should finally be on Broadband by December 10th, so it'll all seem like lightning probably, even when it is running slow.
