Default Six Degrees of (Colour) Separation (Overlay)

Apologies for the title but I thought it would be fun to do a six degrees of separation type game with Doctor Who. Basically someone suggests a person unrelated to Doctor Who and the next poster has to connect them to Doctor Who in six moves or less. For example... Belinda Carlyle
Was in a band called The Go Go's.
Which shares the name with a band from the 1960's
Who wrote a song called I'm Gonna Spend Christmas With A Dalek.
The daleks are the enemy of the Doctor.

So first one, perhaps a toughie.

I take it the aim of the game is to make it as amusing as possible?

    1) Simon Cowell dressed up as a Wonder Dog to promote a single called "Ruff Mix"
    2) Dogs are usually found relieving themselves on a lamp-post
    3) The Blue Lamp was a British cime film which starred George Dixon
    4) George Dixon was a Policeman, famous as Dixon of Dock Green

[There are mutliple ways you can finish it from this point ... frustrating]

    5) Dixon of Dock Green was remade as a radio series starring David Tennant
    6) David Tennant was the 10th Doctor

I think I might have got that wrong. But heck it got the ball rolling.

    for Best Thread Title ever.

    So, Margaret Thatcher...

Margaret Thatcher's father was a greengrocer.
As was Alf Roberts in Coronation Street.
Who was played by Bryan Moseley.
Who was Malpha (or one of the delegates, anyway) in Mission to the Unknown.

There!! (Incidentally, Mrs T's maiden name was, I believe, Roberts.)

    Next up, Whitney Houston.

Rod Stewart covered 'The First Cut Is The Deepest'
by Cat Stevens, who also wrote 'Father To Son'
    which was covered by Boyzone.
One of the people in Boyzone was Stephen Gateley
Who appeared in a Big Finish Doctor Who with Paul McGann!

Is no one going try Dr Alice?

    How about-
Alice Roberts was in Time Team with Tony Robinson
Who was in Blackadder with Stephen Fry
Who was in A Bit of Fry and Laurie with Hugh Laurie
Who was in All or Nothing At All with Bob Monkhouse
Who was in Carry on Sergeant with William Hartnell
Who was in the Three Doctors with Jon Pertwee

    What about David Mitchell?

I feel slightly embarrassed to do this so quickly, but:

David Mitchell has been a panellist on QI
    As has David Tennant
Who spent several years as the lead in, yes, Doctor Who.

Alice Roberts, meanwhile, has a doctorate from the University of Bristol
My BA is also from the University of Bristol
During which I crossed paths with somebody called Leo Martin
Whose father Dave co-wrote several Doctor Who stories.

I'm not sure whether I should have extra marks for making myself one of the degrees or feel geeky for using information gleaned from the alumni magazine.

So let's try man of the moment Carlos Tevez.

Carlos Tevez was born on the 5th February
As was the legendary Frank Muir
Who wrote the radio series Take It From Here
    Which co-starred June Whitfield
Who pinched David Tennant's bottom in a recent Christmas special

Columnist and restaurant critic Giles Coren.

I've tried a couple of these to be entertaining .. but often get caught up in my own attempt to be clever ... but this one works.

Jeremy Clarkeson is most famous for Top Gear
Top Gear includes a feature "Stars in reasonably priced cars" which has a corner named after Michael Gambon
Michael Gambon played Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire ...

    And either ...

The Goblet of Fire starred Roger Lloyd-Pack as Barty Crouch
Who played John Limic in Rise of the Cybermen

    Or

The Goblet of Fire starred some bloke called David Tennant

This involves a massive stroke of good fortune...

David Attenborough made the ground breaking series "Life on Earth"
The producer of which was Chris Parsons
Chris Parsons was a character in Shada.

    George Best

William Shatner appeared in an episode of The Man From UNCLE which also starred David McCallum

    Non-Cannon
David McCallum was Steel to Joanna Lumleys Sapphire in Sapphire and Steel
Joanna Lumley played the first female Doctor in the Curse of Fatal Death

    Cannon
David McCallum was in Sapphire and Steel, where David Collings was Silver
Silver he might have been, but David Collings was more interested in gold when as Vorus he faced the Revenge of the Cybermen
