Probably Power of the Daleks for me. I had the Target book, then the audio CD, and then the audio CD with the telesnaps. So the one I've bought the most is one that doesn't exist
I also have the Seeds of Death on video and DVD, as well as the book, but the video was a present, so that doesn't quite qualify.

Possibly Remembrance of the Daleks - I remember buying the novel, I got the video in the Dalek tin, the video again in the Davros video boxed set and later the DVD. Inevitably I'll get the special edition too at some point.
Dennis, Francois, Melba and Smasher are competing to see who can wine and dine Lola Whitecastle and win the contract to write her memoirs. Can Dennis learn how to be charming? Can Francois concentrate on anything else when food is on the table? Will Smasher keep his temper under control?
If only the 28th century didn't keep popping up to get in Dennis's way...

I wonder if anyone can beat this:
The Dalek Invasion of Earth-
The Hardback
2x Paperback (different editions- one signed, bizarrely by Tom Baker)
The Daleks Omnibus edition
The Doctor Who Classics edition
The VHS
The DVD
The DVD in The Daleks Collection (from WH Smiths)
and The Talking Book.
9 versions! Blimey!

Bizarrely, it's the TV Movie. I bought the script book in 1996, then the DVD when it first came out, then the novelisation on eBay, then the DVD again, then the DVD again, and then the DVD Files version of the DVD.
I'm clearly a freak!
Edited to add:I don't have four copies of the DVD, that would clearly be madness - but I kept flogging it off on eBay when times were 'ard!!

Interesting question, and one I've spent some time reflecting on! I make it a 6-way tie of 5 different purchases of the following :
Pyramids, Talons, 5 Doctors, Genesis, Evil and Web.
Though I'm not sure if Evil and Web really count as 2 of their 5 are the VHS and DVD releases and they were both just for one episode each rather than the whole story (obviously).
The easiest way for me to move clear ahead on 6 would be if and when I were to get the Target Audio CD of Pyramids.
I doubt anyone will beat Si's 9 though!

"Tomb of the Cybermen" - novel, video, DVD, Audio Book, Script Book.
"Five Doctors" - novel, video, video special edition, DVD, DVD special edition (does that count as two, two versions in one?), tape of the music?
Si.

I was thinking it likely that Five Doctors in all it's versions would score highly ...

5 Docs for me:
The original edited VHS video (with the 80's logo on it and Radio Times cover picture on it), the unedited version on VHS, the special edition on VHS, the special edition on DVD, the most recent DVD with the TV version and the special edition on it and the novel.
I'm not sure the music counts as buying the story, but if it does then I have the original record with it on and the CD re-release of the same record. I;ve also got the music from the special edition, but Si Hart gave me that so that doesn't count as being something that I bought!!!! I've also got the episodic version of the story, but I taped that off of UK Gold so that doesn't really count either!!!

For me, it's gotta be Rememberance of the Daleks - at a measly 5 times
The novelization
The VHS (30th Anniversary Daleks Box Set)
The VHS (The Davros Box Set)
The DVD (original)
The DVD (re-issue)
