I get this strange orange icon on my laptop - I have no idea why though ...

Anyone any idea what it's supposed to be?

Vista - it seems to be a laptop thing - I have another Vista machine, and never seen it before.

It's a 'handbag' icon and it means your on-line activity has become too camp. That's what you get for visiting Doctor Who sites all the time.

It looks a little bit like the symbol I have that lights up when I have Number Lock on.

Interesting - I'll try that out tonight! Might well be actually ... I have a laptop downstairs which is usually plugged in with a USB keyboard and mouse, and linked to a monitor. So I'd not notice if the number lock was on.

You may ask why I'm using a laptop like a desktop ...

My thirst thought was that if that was a web browser, that might be confirming it's a secure web page. But that was before I noticed the Num Lock suggestion, and on closer inspection it does look more like a "1" in the middle than a keyhole.

Could it indicate a secure wireless connection?

Most likely a number lock indicator, however it might be something to say the laptop is somehow secured.
